I'm not entirely sure how unfair that is, or if it is unfair that we're blaming the right people. We're talking money, so we're talking business. The men's team is playing in the biggest sporting event in the world. The money the tournament generates is extremely high, and the purse money reflects that for teams that win.
Like if a WNFL popped up, and a team won their Super Bowl for 10 straight years. Then the players pop up and say "The Bengals haven't won shit. Why are they paid so much more than us?". Welllll the Bengals are involved in revenue sharing with the rest of the league, so they generate way more money. To get the same pay the women's team would be paid like the Bengals and go bankrupt, or the Bengals would take a huge pay cut, and the players wouldn't get a fair cut of the revenue they helped bring the franchise
