I think since Trump has shown that it's possible to build a political cult of personality and mobilize millions of people to not only go against the opposing party but their own party...
Someone is gonna try this shit again. And they are actually be competent, in regards of trying to become authoritarian. There's a large silent majority that desires charismatic strong man leadership.
In the end though, Trump clearly beat the Democrats and the Republicans.
He made sure the Republicans need him even after he's out of office and he thoroughly humiliated the Democrats by getting the Row v. Wade decision.
