My question is what was compromised...what was conceded?

Where did the weak ass Democrats start and how far is that from where we ended up

In regards of the stimulus

For one - instead of $4,500 direct payments monthly for a family of three for the duration of the virus.

Instead it will be a $2,000 one time payment.

So we went from a $54,000/ yr relief for the average middle class family who may be without income

To $2,000 one time...

That’ll really jump start the economy.

Shit I thought it was agreed to be 1200 and where was the original push for a monthly 4000?

Most people are either gonna save it or spend it on groceries.

I could be slightly wrong on the final numbers by I’m essentially Correct.

Democrats proposed a counter bill in the house that had $1500 payments for every adult and $1,500 for every kid up to 3.

That's where I got $4500 for a family of 3.

AND they were going to be perpetual Payments until the end of the pandemic.

Republicans said “fuck that” y’all only get a one time payment

I was gonna post a articles about what Denmark is doing for their stimulus.

But fuck it..why make everyone else mad.

Do it. People need to be mad. So they can stop voting in the same motherfukers that don’t care about the working people they represent.

Only issue with this is Denmark has a population that's smaller than that of New York City. But one can kind of gain an idea of how to make it relative

I hear you. We’re gonna have to agree to disagree on this, the realities of this country make it so that it will not change anytime soon.

I don’t see this as an “issue”

Ive heard this argument a lot as “evidence” that we cannot have a society in the US that somehow prioritizes people over profits.

But citing a fact in a vacuum is not the same thing as posing a substantive, data-driven, well thought out hypothesis of why something cannot be done.

There are arguments that a larger population with vastly more resources and economies of scale would make it EASIER to implement social democratic initiatives.

Paper Planes are smaller than a Boeing 747.

Does that mean commercial aircrafts cannot exist because they are big?

Or if we give it some effort - can we expand the PRINCIPLES of aeronautics beyond a folded piece of paper?

Moreover; there are very large countries in the world that have implemented these reforms with over 100 million people.

It’s a lazy, weak argument that a lot of conservatives use to discredit progressive ideas.

Not understanding standing the nosign @bluntedsultan
Democrats are the reason this bill was held up.... and it should’ve been
If they were weak they would’ve let that partisan bill be passed

the Republican cult‘s original bill was full of stipulations that would fuck super poor people over and let business’s fuck over their employees.
This bill makes sure that Individuals with no or little tax liability would receive the same amount, unlike the initial GOP proposal that would have given them a minimum of $600.

Im not a big fan of establishment, but Democrats came to play ball with this stimulus bill as compromised as the final one is.

Well hence why I said make it relative. I'm just looking at the schematics of a country like ours as compared to theirs. It's not saying it's a bad idea but facing the reality that it would require some retooling and thinking outside the box

They used 13.5 % of their GDP for the stimulus.

Their mindset on how to tackle the effects of the virus is what’s different.
I agree it definitely is different I just look at things in the sense of what way can it be applicable to our country, adapted if you will
