States Cancelling GOP Primaries, Caucuses To Protect Trump

The South Carolina, Nevada, Arizona and Kansas Republican Parties are preparing to toss their 2020 primary or caucus processes, a sign of how thoroughly Trump loyalists have pervaded the system.

According to Politico, Trump’s primary opponents are denouncing the brazen path-smoothing.

“Primary elections are important, competition within parties is good, and we intend to be on the ballot in every single state no matter what the RNC and Trump allies try to do,” said former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) said. “We also intend to loudly call out this undemocratic bull on a regular basis.”

“We don’t elect presidents by acclamation in America. Donald Trump is doing his best to make the Republican Party his own personal club. Republicans deserve better,” chimed in former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld (R).

In response, Team Trump pointed to other times in history that state parties have cancelled primaries when they had an incumbent President.

Jobs Report: Economy Added Fewer Jobs Than Expected In August

Job creation slowed in August, with only 130,000 jobs added to the U.S. economy compared to expectations of around 160,000.

The unemployment level held steady at 3.7 percent.

Job gains for June and July were downgraded by a total of about 20,000.

According to Yahoo Finance, the jobs report comes at a critical time as trade spats and signs of a looming recession have spooked investors.

Trump Vented To Fox News Reporter About The Hurricane Map Snafu

Amid his relentless crusade to defend himself against the Hurricane Dorian map snafu, President Donald Trump turned to Fox News.

According to a CNN report Thursday night, Trump called Fox News correspondent John Roberts into the Oval Office shortly after Roberts finished his 3 p.m. live shot Thursday to argue that he wasn’t wrong about Dorian’s path including Alabama.

“He stressed to me that forecasts for Dorian last week had Alabama in the warning cone,” Roberts wrote in an internal Fox email regarding his meeting with Trump, which CNN obtained. “He insisted that it is unfair to say Alabama was never threatened by the storm.”

In the email CNN obtained, Roberts said that the President was “just looking for acknowledgment that he was not wrong for saying that at some point, Alabama was at risk — even if the situation had changed by the time he issued the tweet” Sunday morning saying that the state “will most likely be hit.”

CNN reported that the President additionally provided Roberts with graphics to make his argument.

A White House aide familiar with the Oval Office meeting told CNN that Trump also brought up his ongoing displeasure with Fox News anchor Shep Smith, a notable liberal voice on the network, and his skeptical reporting on the Alabama map. The aide told CNN that Trump then summoned Roberts “to hit back at Shepard Smith.”

Roberts said in the email provided to CNN that he pointed out to Trump that by the time he had sent out his Sunday morning tweet warning Alabama and other states of the storm, Dorian’s projected trajectory had already moved much farther east and no longer included Alabama.

Roberts wrote that Trump “seemed to agree that the forecast track had moved — but he was adamant that at some point, Alabama was at risk.” Roberts added that the President “also reminded that on occasions in the past, forecast tracks have changed dramatically.”

Boris Johnson’s Great Balancing Act

Amid British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s very tough week, he received a friendly emissary from the United States: Vice President Mike Pence.

According to the New York Times, Pence cited the “very warm and personal relationship you have forged with President Trump.”

That warm and personal relationship may prove to be more burden than boon as Johnson faces down a possible election against the Labour Party in coming weeks.

Trump is deeply unpopular in Britain and, per the Times, critics say that the country will becoming increasingly dependent on the mercurial Trump if it crashes out the European Union without agreeing to a deal.

Johnson’s awareness of the tenuousness of his own position was clear in his response to Pence’s promise of trade talks.

“You guys are pretty tough negotiators, so we are going to work very hard to make sure that the free trade deal is one that works for all sides,” he said.

The fickle Trump, for his part, had continued to stand by his brother in blondness, even as Johnson’s real sibling jumped ship.

Trump Campaign Is Now Selling Markers As Hurricane Dorian Map Saga Stretches On

Will this be the end of the line for President Trump’s Hurricane Dorian map snafu?

On Friday, Trump’s re-election campaign responded to widespread media coverage of the President seemingly taking a sharpie to a map of the storm to suggest that Alabama could be hit … with markers of its own.

The fine-tip markers being sold on the Trump campaign’s website are printed with the President’s signature in gold and come in packs of five.

Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale sarcastically tweeted Friday that the official marker is “different than than every other marker on the market.”

Trump himself still isn’t letting the story die, sending several tweets railing against news coverage of his erroneous claim.

This isn’t the first time the Trump campaign has merchandised a news story. Back in July, the campaign started selling plastic straws, claiming that “liberal paper straws don’t work.” The straws proved to be popular, bringing in about half a million dollars in about two weeks.

Its gone be a wild ride.

Im thinking if he takes a L in 2020. He and AG Barr challenge the result and take it to the supreme court. Where they rule in his favor 5 to 4.
Nah most he can do is a recount and even then the election would have to have been a razor thin margin for that...but what he will do is bitch and moan on twitter talking about cheating and it being rigged...his meltdown will be insane
