Trump’s Personal Aide Fired From WH Over ‘Security Issue,’ Immediately Hired by Trump Campaign

The chaos at the White House continues unabated.

On the day that it was announced that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had been ousted by President Donald Trump, it was also reported that Trump’s longtime personal aide John McEntee had been escorted from the White House after he was fired Monday over an “unspecified security issue.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, the ouster of McEntee happened so quickly that someone had to go back into the White House and grab McEntee’s jacket for him after he was removed from the grounds.

Despite McEntee’s sudden termination from the White House that led to security physically escorting him off the premises, Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign announced today that McEntee had been hired as a Senior Advisor for campaign operations. The campaign also brought on Katrina Pierson as a Senior Advisor. Pierson worked for the 2016 campaign as a spokesperson.

McEntee’s termination apparently shocked the Trump family and inner circle:

McEntee was seen in the White House as part of the team of Trump loyalists who had been with Trump since the beginning. Others that were part of the group were now-former White House communications director Hope Hicks and social media director Dan Scavino.

Naturally, the White House press shop declined to specify the reason for McEntee’s ouster, with Sarah Sanders hilariously telling the WSJ that they “don’t comment on personnel issues.”

lol lol Trump talkin like he put Rex out to pasture.

Trump: "I toke Rex behind the barn and shot him. I did the old guy a favor. He'll be happier now."

LMAO

Holy Typo! Sean Spicer Tweets Tillerson’s a ‘True Patriot’ Who Has ‘Severed Our Nation’

Oh, Spicey.

After President Donald Trump announced he had ousted Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and was designating CIA Director Mike Pompeo to be the new SoS, a number of Trump administration figures and loyalists took to Twitter to thank Tillerson for his service and congratulate Pompeo.

One of those who wanted to declare that Pompeo was an excellent choice to take over the State Department was former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. It appears, however, that Spicer was a little too quick when hitting send on that tweet.

As you can see in the tweet above, the ex-White House spokesperson called Tillerson a “true patriot that has severed our nation very well.”

Oof. Obviously, he meant “served our nation,” but man that is one heck of a typo.

Freudian slip much?

Tillerson was leaving anyway Cenk Uygur called it last week; said Tillerson was there to facilitate that Exxon Mobile deal...which was cancelled last week so he was leaving anyway

White House Cans State Department Aide Who Said Tillerson Had No Idea He Was Going to Get Fired

Rex Tillerson is not the only member of the State Department getting fired today. Now there are reports that one of Tillerson’s top colleagues is also on his way out for contradicting the White House’s characterization of President Trump‘s decision to fire the secretary of state.

Shortly after Tillerson’s ouster was publicly confirmed, State Department Undersecretary
of Public Diplomacy Steve Goldstein released a statementsaying Tillerson never spoke to Trump about today’s decision, and had every intention of remaining in his position. This directly challenges the notion that the White House told the secretary he would be phased out, and it also rebukes what Trump said about how he and Tillerson have spoken about this for “a long time.”

Charlottesville Counterprotester Sues InfoWars And Other Far-Right Media Figures For Defamation

A Virginia man who was part of the counterprotest at the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville last year is suing conspiracy site InfoWars, its founder Alex Jones and a number of other far-right media figures for defamation.

The suit was filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia on behalf of Brennan Gilmore Tuesday. Besides Jones and InfoWars, Gilmore is also naming former GOP Congressman Allen West, Gateway Pundit owner Jim Hoft, InfoWars reporter Lee Ann McAdoo, right-wing reporter Lee Stranahan and bloggers Derrick Wilburn and Scott Creighton as defendants.

Gilmore’s lawsuit alleges that all parties defamed him by spreading “fake news” and conspiracy stories that claimed he was in the middle of a George Soros-funded leftist plot to stage the Charlottesville attack that killed one counterprotester and injured dozens of others. Gilmore was on the scene and shot video when neo-Nazi James Fields purposely rammed his car into a crowd of counterprotesters. After Gilmore tweeted the video out, he appeared in numerous television interviews to discuss the tragedy.

Following his press appearances, InfoWars and others published pieces purporting to show Gilmore was involved in a left-wing false flag operation in Charlottesville, citing his work for the State Department and Democratic politics. Gilmore responded to the conspiratorial allegations in a Politico op-ed last summer, highlighting how he had become “fake news.”

In a statement on his lawsuit obtained by The Hill, Gilmore said the “defendants thrive by inciting devastating real-world consequences with the propaganda and lies they publish as ‘news,’” adding that he’s asking the court to “hold them responsible for the personal and professional damage their lies have caused me, and, more importantly, to deter them from repeating this dangerous pattern of defamation and intimidation.”

Meanwhile, Jones told The Hill that the lawsuit was full of, you guessed it, fake news.

“Fake quotes of articles that don’t exist, fake headlines of videos that don’t exist,” Jones claimed, further stating that the “lawsuits are all complete frauds” because “it’s all Democratic party lawyers.”
