The Official World Politics Thread

I’m still trying to figure out what his message was here....

The quote basically says the complex your society becomes, the less free you must also become.

Is he arguing against complex societies?

Arguing for complex societies with less freedom?

Or is he saying this is how Mussolini thought so we shouldn’t think this?

Don Jr Thinks MAGA Fans ‘Get Shot’ In Chicago, Where Skyline Includes Trump Tower

Despite the fact that his family owns a Trump Tower in downtown Chicago — which is a staple of the skyline waterfront along the Chicago River — Donald Trump Jr. claims supporting President Trump in the city is a safety risk for MAGA fans.

During an interview with “Fox and Friends” Monday, the President’s son went on a baffling rant about his conspiracy theory that social media and tech companies are out to get conservatives, which culminated with him making a tasteless joke about gun violence in Chicago, a city plagued by gun-related homicides.

“I put out a tweet sort of sarcastically hitting some of the Jussie Smollett thing, which was like, ‘Man I’m really shocked that people in downtown Chicago on the coldest night of the year weren’t actually there wearing MAGA hats,'” he said. “Because you know, if you wore a MAGA hat in downtown Chicago, you probably wouldn’t last too long. Okay? About two seconds until you get shot.”

Former Trump Campaign Aide Accuses President Of Forced Grab And Kiss

A campaign aide for President Donald Trump’s 2016 race has filed a lawsuit in which she claims that the then-candidate grabbed her and kissed her without her consent before a rally in Florida, according to a Monday Washington Post report.

Alva Johnson says that she quickly turned her head so that the kiss mostly missed her mouth. She also alleges that Trump looked her up and down upon her hiring, saying “oh, beautiful, beautiful, fantastic.”

She told the Post that she felt “violated” by the unwanted grab and kiss and has since seen a therapist to help mitigate the emotional fallout.

The White House is denying the accusation.

“This never happened and is directly contradicted by multiple highly credible eye witness accounts,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement to the Post.

Johnson said that then-Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and Florida campaign director Karen Giorno witnessed the event, though both women deny it.

Johnson said she kept working for the campaign until shortly before the election.

As the New Yorker pointed out, team Trump may try to silence Johnson due to the non-disclosure agreement she broke by filing the lawsuit.

Trump has been accused of a variety of sexual misconduct by more than a dozen women, but Johnson is the first to come forward since he’s been in office.
