Gehlken said club officials would not comment, but acknowledged the team is awaiting final word on the situation.

What is the reason for the latest trouble?
Bryant is a gifted receiver but his off-field issues have held his career back.

Bryant has had repeated violations of the league’s substance-abuse policy, and that led to him being suspended for the entire 2016 season. Bryant came back last season and while he complained about his role during the season, at least he avoided another suspension.

That didn’t seemingly didn’t last long. Gehlken pointed out that a suspension isn’t necessarily triggered by a failed test, but can also come about because of a missed test. Whatever the reason for the latest reported discipline, it’s looming over the Raiders offseason until it gets resolved.

Raiders took a big risk on Bryant
The reasons the Raiders traded a third-round pick to the Steelers for Bryant were clear. His first two seasons he averaged 17.3 yards per catch as one of the most dynamic deep threats in the game. His 2017 wasn’t as great but he’s just 26 years old and a rare talent.

There’s also a reason a player as talented as Bryant was available in a trade. He’s entirely unreliable.

While we don’t know the details of what’s going on or how it will be resolved, it’s a reminder that the Raiders were making a big gamble by trading a valuable third-round pick for Bryant.

Raiders, Bryant wait for a resolution

Perhaps Bryant’s side will be able to argue the receiver did nothing wrong and the situation will be resolved in a way that Bryant won’t miss any time. But even if this passes, the Raiders will always be worried about what might come next with the troubled Bryant.

I personally hope it ain't true. But as soon as i heard he was going to Cali where weed clouds are just as common as rain clouds, i knew he was fighting a losing battle.

In acquiring Martavis Bryant in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers in April, Oakland General Manager Reggie McKenzie said the Raiders felt “good about giving Martavis an opportunity.”

It appears as though that good feeling may have left the building.

According to Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Raiders are wary that a new suspension for the talented, but troubled, receiver may be imminent.

The team declined to comment on the matter to Gehlken but affirmed they are awaiting word from the NFL about a potential violation of the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Bryant was suspended for the entirety of the 2016 season due to repeated violations of the substance-abuse policy. He was conditionally reinstated last year and played in 15 games for Pittsburgh with eight starts. He caught 50 passes for 603 yards and three touchdowns before being traded to the Raiders in exchange for a third-round pick.

A failed test isn’t the only way Bryant could run afoul of the league policy. Missed tests could trigger another suspension as well.

Dodged that bullet

dude gotta have some sort of mental issues. he was doing and saying wild stuff at miami. crazy when you think how great and respected his dad is

Other than that "soldier" shit, I really don't recall any crazy things by him. Some of the stuff i just chalk up to being young. Now when he was no longer in the NFL is when the crazy seem to come. I could be wrong tho. Really never paid much attention to dude. His dad deserves better.

Kellen Winslow II pleads not guilty to host of crimes, remains jailed

VISTA, Calif. -- Former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow II was jailed without bail Friday after pleading not guilty to multiple counts of kidnapping, rape and other charges.

The 34-year-old Winslow was ordered to return to San Diego County Superior Court on June 25 for a preliminary hearing.

If convicted, Winslow could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

His attorney, Brian Watkins, did not immediately respond to a message left at his office.

Prosecutors say Winslow began a crime spree last March that included rapes, kidnappings, indecent exposure and burglary and continued until just before his arrest this week.

According to charging documents, he allegedly kidnapped and raped a 54-year-old woman on March 13 and then a 59-year-old woman on May 13.

On May 24, prosecutors say, he exposed himself in a public place, the location of which wasn't disclosed.

The burglary charges involved alleged break-ins at the home of a 71-year-old woman on June 1 and an 86-year-old woman on June 7.

Winslow was originally arrested June 7 in the burglary case. After posting bail, he was arrested again Thursday on the additional charges. On Friday, Superior Court Judge Robert Dahlquist ordered him held without bail.

Winslow's wife, Janelle, and his father, Hall of Fame tight end Kellen Winslow Sr., released a joint statement late Friday. Kellen Winslow Sr. was at the courthouse for Friday's arraignment.

"On behalf of our son and my husband, we want to reiterate our love, support and affection for him during this difficult process," the statement read. "We will always be there for him and we know the true facts will come out."

The younger Winslow spent 10 seasons in the NFL from 2004 to 2013 with Cleveland, Tampa Bay, New England and the New York Jets. The former University of Miami star had 469 catches for 5,236 yards and 25 touchdowns in 105 games.

Once among the NFL's highest-paid tight ends, Winslow was suspended in 2013 with the Jets for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. In November 2013, he was arrested after a woman told police she saw him masturbating in a parked car outside of a New Jersey department store. Winslow was arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana, and the charge was dropped after he completed court-ordered terms.

Drafted No. 6 overall by Cleveland, he broke his right leg in his rookie season, then suffered a serious right knee injury in a motorcycle accident that offseason.

Brady on Oprah saying he sees retirement coming soon I know he had Belichick in mind while he’s saying that, there’s a disconnect that’s unfixable at this point, years down they’ll link back up for retirement ceremonies or whatever and forget all this crap but right now it feels like it’s going to get worse before it gets better

Regardless of what’s going on in the locker room and who’s not here anymore and who’s suspended and who’s hurt and yea this could very well be the end of an era BUT...we’ll still beat the Steelers in the playoffs

Jr been crazy, it just took nearly 20 years for all that shit to bubble over into a mess. Regardless, if he really out here raping old women he deserves everything he gets.
