Trump to appoint Bill Belichick to his Sports Council

President Trump is appointing a number of sports celebrities, including New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, to his "Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition," Axios has learned.

What's new: According to a source with direct knowledge, alongside Belichick, Trump will also appoint golfer Natalie Gulbis, three-time Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist Misty May-Treanor, retired Major League Baseball pitcher Mariano Rivera, retired NFL running back Herschel Walker, and Dr. Mehmet Oz.

  • This group includes some old Trump friends and reinforces the truism that one never really leaves Trump's orbit. In the early 1980s, when Trump tried — and failed — to crush the NFL through his purchase of USFL team the New Jersey Generals, his star recruit was Herschel Walker.
  • On Wednesday the New York Times reported that chief of staff John Kelly marveled to donors last week that Trump spent "a long time" on the phone with Belichick.

Not gonna happen. QB is the only position in the league where white players are still some of the best at the position. That is the only reason QBs get that much money with owners or fans not really complaining about the amount.

Also QBs hardly get hurt. Owners are not willing to give anybody else guaranteed money and they have a higher possibility of suffering season ending injuries

True all those "special" rules they have for QB's and how and when they can be hit.

Cosign this, more than the race thing. Usage, impact and injury risk factor more into why QBs are paid so much than race does. Also, QBs are assumed captains soon as they are given the job. That's part of the reason for the big paycheck. So character and behavior plays into it. It's different if you hear that Earl Thomas is out in public acting a fool than Russel Wilson. The QB is usually the face of the team.

Hence the race part of it. The white qb can lead the rest of them niggas. The black qb is athletic and the white qb is smart even if they play a similar game.

I should have been more concise and that's my fault.

I wasn't trying to say players other than QB's would have fully guaranteed contracts in the (imminent) future, but I was alluding to the higher probability of those players having more of their contracts guaranteed, especially star players.
 
There are 7 black starting quarterbacks currently in the league. Imagine if things were in reverse and these black quarterbacks were getting this money they’d be putting up a bitch fit asking to change the system.
