Weve had mad winds here atm and come to see this morning that even in the polytunnel it took out one of my tomatoes...

:ohshit2:

you dont have any stakes down to support the tomato plants?

I do stake them but not with a cane... I use twine hanging down from the roof and stake that into the soil, then I have the tomatoes clipped to the twine with those plastic clips, as the plant grows you just train the plant up the twine and add more clips... Usually works a treat as theyre inside the polytunnel or greenhouse and away from the elements...

Heres a pic from when the plants were young:

The wind was so strong last night that plant closest to the door, which has a little window like square to let air in, similar to the one the pic below (not mine) took out the plant smh

We’re supposedly getting a hurricane rain soon. My tomato plant flowered. I hope it don’t get destroyed.

When we get hurricanes out here, if the plant isnt too big I put a large trash bag over it so it doesnt get whipped up by the wind too bad

Man I had tons of loganberries almost ready to pick last week, the strong winds and that fckn bird locked in the cage decimated them smh

That bird musta thought he was at an all you can buffet!!!

Thankfully theres still a fair bit more unripe fruit growing on there...

Had a cherry tree in a large plastic pot.. was brownish for months and I wasnt sure why. Turns out it was rootbound. changed it to a bigger cloth pot and look at the difference a month made!

Absolutely smashing it bro, that cheery transformation is great...

Couple questions, do you prune your pepper plants??? As they look awesome, someone told me just to let them do their thing but Im wondering if I should give it a little haircut...

Also, how many offshoots/stems do you leave on your tomatoes???

Preciate it man!

I havent pruned anything on that pepper im just letting it do its thing. If anything, if I see some yellowing or branches that dont look healthy ima cut it off.

For the tomatoes I clipped everything except one offshoot off the main stem. The main stem is there for each of the three still. I tried to take a clipping and put it in the dirt but it didnt take. I think if I would have put it in some water and let it root it would have made it

Cool I'll just let my pepper ride out then, that makes life easier...

Its so hard to keep on top of tomatoes, like you can miss a sucker growing then all of a sudden you got another stem growing with those yellow flowers you dont wanna cop it off!!!

I try to keep 3 stems going on my polytunnel tomatoes as theyre only small tomatoes, the ones in the greenhouse are small too but I tried to just keep the one main stem going due to space but somehow after trying my best to to stay on top of the pruning theyve got 2 or maybe even 3 stems going on lol
