In regards to Gal Gadot continuing as #WonderWoman:

Pre-strikes, #WonderWoman3 was supposed to shoot this summer with a script by Patty Jenkins that Gal really liked. Jenkins was obviously returning to direct, but James Gunn scrapped her script entirely because he thought her take didn’t fit with where he wanted to take Wonder Woman in the DCU. This led to Jenkins no longer being involved in the project in ANY capacity.

James Gunn, Peter Safran AND Gal Gadot will develop a NEW version of Wonder Woman 3, from scratch. (Post-strikes, obviously.) At the end of the day it won’t really be “WONDER WOMAN 3”, but a reboot starring the same actress. Some things we saw in her previous movies will stay the same, some will change.

Maybe the DCU needs to try with lesser known heroes and give us stories folks can connect with on some level. We don't really need MORE Superman, Batman, or WW flicks at this point. DC has more interesting characters to put forth than these three, but particularly Supes and Bats.

Blue Beetle is a start, but I'm thinking it may fall flat. Chances are that anyone that grew up in the 70's remembers Blue Beetle from The Electric Company and that's their first thought. Either that they might remember Dan Garret or most likely Ted Kord as Blue Beetle from the comics in the 80's. Restarting with Booster Gold as he was written in the comics prolly would have been the way to go.
