It’s hard to compare because they are so different. Both are so good it only comes down to personal preference. I loved both but I prefer Heath’s version.

Good Riddance get Cavill the fuck outta here. I can't believe it's people acting like they dropped a prime Christopher Reeves. This guy was a mid-ass Superman. All he had was the damn look and in BA he looked every bit of 40ish and mans is only 39. If they plan on telling 10 years worth of stories then why wouldn't they cast someone in their late 20s or early 30's who can grow into the role?

My point was Superman isn't some child. So a 40 y/o actor can still play the character.
If they building the Universe for the next decade like Marvel did theirs you want young actors, you don't want a 50 year old dude playing Supes by the third movie

Michael Keaton was 40 was he got Batman. Ben Affleck was even older when he got Batman as well.
If he hadn't died, would you have a problem with Chadwick continuing to be T'challa/Black Panther? He was in his 40s as well.
Michael Keaton did 2 movies and isn't Bruce Wayne around that age anyway so it didn't matter

So someone 40 would be just fine, playing someone in their 30s.

I never liked the character, in the comics (I collect a little), movies, or cartoons. I don't like the character for a myriad reasons and as much as I would like to unpack why I don't like the character in full, I will not. I will say this though, even as a little kid I always felt like Superman was the most white bread/washed comic character...

Indiana Jones is a nostalgia bait moneygrab and Harrison Ford playing general Ross is an old man playing an old man. Gunn wants a younger superman for the story he's telling. Clark Kent will be a cub reporter for the daily planet and this story will take place in prolly his third year as superman.
