The Official DCU Thread

Shit I don't think Heath's Joker is seen as the "end all, be all" Joker. Folks loved the performance but Jack Nicholson's Joker get's just as much respect and some cases more.
Damn so cavill gets more praise for Superman then heath gets for Joker in regards to playing their respective character

But nobody can tell me why that is

Crazy world we live in

Do you really care?

lmao we both know I dont give a shit.

I't's been a discussion point recently to try and detract from comicbook movies overall though so I figured id pose the question.

Me personally, as long as the movie or tv show is good..whether its a comic movie, a drama, comedy, thriller etc.. I dont give a shit about the actors "stardom" particularly. I just want quality storytelling

I’m not saying WB has to scrap the entire cast but if they did what’s really being lost that’s irreplaceable? (On the low I wanna see cavill get recasted just to see ppl cry lol) but nah they can stay but I also don’t see the incentive to keep them really. Maybe if you can tell me what cavill brought to the role that someone else couldn’t have.

If you can do that without telling me man of steel was good or he’s the best Superman after reeves (lmao) you already doing better than most lol

But yeah either tell Gal gadot to deal with it (she’s been around for most of the fuckery anyways so this should be nothing to her) or she can just leave to do more Netflix movies or come back in fast and the furious 11

Honestly my best argument for why Gal Gadot and Henry Cavil should stay with those roles was posted in the statement you commented on. He actually enjoyed playing the character and the fans liked him playing it. Lmao.

let’s be real here, It’s a superhero movie. LMAO. Most fans don’t care who plays the role. They care how the role is written and if the actor can portray well, what is written. I honestly don’t even like the character Superman, and I thought Man of Steel was hella somber, but Cavil did a decent job with what was written.

so in all honesty I could care less (LMAO) if they recast, but I think it doesn’t make a lot of sense to do so (unless financial reasons) if you already have a fan favorite who wants to continue doing the work with a company that has been hella rudderless for a long time. Him and Gal were some of the very few things fans and critics liked about the DC cinematic universe

It's what you get for entertaining

Fair enough but in cavill’s case they do care if supes is recast like he’s untouchable and I tried to find out why he is considered that

I got he’s a fan favorite but I just didn’t see anything he did personally that sets him apart

But hey

i am definitely the wrong one to ask about this character because (like i stated before) I’m not a big fan of it. Lol

I say all that to say this though…………

what character in any movie can’t have a recast? I definitely know of some great actors portrayals in many movies, but a great writer can shape a role around any decent actor and any decent actor can do a solid to good job making a role theirs in my opinion.

A perfect example is my favorite James Bond is Roger Moore. I like Roger better than any other person who has played the role because I liked the tone of his movies the best. Funny enough, my favorite Bond movie of all time is GoldFinger which stars Sean Connery. Lmao. Sean played (and it was written different) Bond different than Roger Moore and Roger played Bond different than Daniel Craig because the roles were written differently. They all made the character theirs in some shape, form, or fashion.

I wasn’t a big fan of Daniel as Bond, but I do think he is a great actor.

I agree for the most part

I guess ppl just got USED to cavill being him

I'll never understand how niggaz so invested in shit they don't like

I been gave up caring about this shit. They can do what they want. They'll never achieve what coulda been 🤷🏿‍♂️

They were never going to achieve that under former leadership. I'm looking forward to see what Gunn's vision is gonna be
I mentally consider the animated run DC's version of the MCU.

It's the only thing that's on par.

1.MCU/DCAU
2. Nolan/burton
3.arrowverse/netflixmu

4. Dceu

whatever Gunn does with the "new" DCU...I wish them the best. But I can't even fake excitement any more
