The official COVID-19/Coronavirus Discussion Thread...aka I hope I don't get the Rona

Keep us posted, interested about the side effects after dose 2

A couple hundred people have already gotten it there. No issues at all. It's really sad how many people have already made their mind up and have a negative view on the vaccine.

Too many niggas trying to be smart over a very simplistic thing like getting a fucking shot.

So you’re not gonna keep us posted or...

Oh definitely. I'm saying that between the 3 hospitals and the 12 nursing home facilities where I'm at there have been no reported issues or side effects.

No matter where you are when you get the vaccine you get it in two phases. That's 2 shots that are 2 weeks apart.

My grandfather is 88 and he's in a nursing home right now and he is expected to receive his first dose next week.

I'm an essential worker for The City so I suspect that I may end up getting mine sometime after the majority of the medical personnel have received theirs so probably sometime in January.

Also keep in mind that as of right now there are two different COVID vaccines in circulation but but of them are pretty identical. Nothing extreme about one or the other.

I'm to the point where if I see any black folks being open mindeded to do this shit it makes my day.

I'm from the south where majority of my family and people who look like me quick to rationalize things they don't understand, and cite misinformation as "real shit". The Tuskegee experiments really fucked up generations and is continue to do so.

Almost had to check my Momma for saying some wild shit. It's to the point I'm the only one in my family that's likely getting vaccinated. It's the same thing for my girl family as well. So all of y'all that's actually open to try it despite of history, and willing to look further to speak to trained professionals with insight on what's going on I appreciate y'all alot man. Like that shit REALLY means alot to me personally.

Just found out that it’s not mandatory at my job.

Also, I’ve been informed that they don’t want everybody here getting vaccinated at the same time, just in case it has bad side effects.

So, I’m not doing it.
