Oh it's real - AB-1840 Home Purchase Assistance Program: eligibility

Seems like quite the terrible idea huh? I'm not sure what's the whole angle behind what they're trying to do in passing this now, but at a very minimum if this became law it doesn't mean complete alien strangers out of nowhere would qualify for these programs. It doesn't work like that, but it still looks a bit crazy for Dems to pass a bill like this during election season with immigration being a hot topic. lol. Idk, welcome to California I guess.

The governor may kill it of course, but until then, I'm not sure the ramifications it could have on the Harris/Walz campaign if anything.
