My issue with Loftus Cheek is that I don't think he can make it as an AM. He should be a central midfielder who can break forward imo. Like a Ballack on skates

Loftus.....Ballack? Where have I heard that before? LOL

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has hailed England midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek as having “more strings to his bow” than Germany legend Michael Ballack.

Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan at Palace from Chelsea have struggled to nail down a place in the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge.

“I think Ruben’s internal midfield play is something that makes him very versatile,” he added.

“I don’t know what his best position is. It really depends how teams want to play.

“He could play in a central role in a four, but luckily for me he can also play as a wide player in a four.

“But if you play with a defensive midfield player alongside him he could certainly do that, I’m sure.

“I’d say he goes by people more than Ballack did. But I think he’s got Ballack’s power and his pace and his strength — he’s definitely got that.

“But he’s maybe got more strings to his bow than even Ballack had. That’s a bold thing to say, I know, but he’s so good at going past people. He’s got that deceptive turn of pace.

“In that way he’s a bit like Jack Wilshere really. That ability to receive a ball in tight situations and then come out very quickly on the other side and open a game up.

“That’s a skill because passing players can’t do that. Passing players have to pass it and then get it back again.

“Ruben can twist and turn his way out of tight situations and, as I say, open a game up. And then he’s very powerful going forward.

“I think he can add more goals to his game. I’m sure he will as time goes on.”

LOL, no need to name names. Its like almost everyone in this thread. Might be just a few Arsenal fans, @Blue_London and me that DON'T do that.

We all know @Water Ur Seeds is the king of the Ozil Haters Club.

Lol why I can't watch pundits talk they have to much influence on what we determine as good.

I will never forget Alan shearer said Sanchez can't be considered world class because he hasn't won't the league. (Even though he won countless trophies with Barca) the following week Alan shearer was saying harry kane is world class lol.

English bias. A lot of these fools shouldn't be getting paid.

@toheeb27 yeah since Spurs switched to Nike he hasn't been playing the same. In the under armour kit he was bold brash ready to take on any team, also early on last season in a nike shirt he was doing the same thing, but after the injury it was like he was afraid to take on players and possibly get hurt, so he was just poking around for tap ins and pens.

@Northside7 you aight out there in the Toronto suburbs? A lot of high profile shootings and incidents been happening in Toronto this year.

@Northside7 you aight out there in the Toronto suburbs? A lot of high profile shootings and incidents been happening in Toronto this year.

I'm safe.

It's one of those years. People are freaking because the vast majority of the shootings aren't situated to the low income areas of the city like they usually are. Downtown, the burbs, tourists spots, greektown, a bowling alley, restaurants, playgrounds, you name it, people have been getting it everywhere.

Legal guns up here and all those guns from the U.S.

It is what it is.

Ozil agent is at it again

He said: "The comments of Mr Hoeness miss the point completely, as they have absolutely nothing to do with football. He is trying to divert attention away from the real issue, the issue of racism and discrimination in Germany, which is resurging once again within everyday German society.

"As Mesut said in his statement, he accepts reasonable and fair criticism of his football, and deals with that as part of the job. However, Mr Hoeness cannot even provide any actual evidence to back up his foolish statements that are clearly exaggerated. In this case, the stats are clear. Twenty-three goals, 40 assists - which is a German record - and five-time German player of the year - three of which come after 2014.

"He claims that Mesut has been a 'ghost' for years, but what 'ghost' wins all these awards and has this much success? Mesut created more chances in the 2018 World Cup per 90 minutes than any other player, but, of course, he singles him out for criticism. As the president of Bayern Munich is it not best to focus on the performance of his own players seeing as eight of the Germany team play for the club.

If Mesut is such a bad player, what does this say about his opinion on Joachim Low, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho? These are three elite managers who praise Mesut as one of the best in his position. It is laughable that he thinks he is more qualified to judge footballing abilities than these people, with fabricated statistics.

"It is obvious that his comment about Mesut not making any tackles is completely made up and false. But, just so everyone knows, in both the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Euros, Mesut won over 65 per cent of duels per game, moreover he was the most important player in the games against France and Italy in 2016, again making a complete mockery of his ludicrous comments.

The facts speak for themselves and anyway who is he to speak about Mesut in this way? These lies are cheap, stereotypical and baseless comments - made without any foundations - that allow hurtful news to spread.

"Mr Hoeness, we will not waste any more time or energy talking about a subject clearly you know nothing about. Not only is he a disgrace to yourself, but also and more importantly a shame to German football and the people of Germany."

Ozil's agent attacked the racism and discrimination his client has received from all angles this summer and claims the Bayern chief can't face "the uncomfortable truth" that criticism of the Arsenal playmaker in Germany is tied to his ethnicity and religion.

"Hoeness has very conveniently attempted to direct the conversation to football," Dr Sogut added. "You will have noticed that Mesut’s statement did not place great focus on football and anyway he accepts football-related criticism. The real issue is that which was previously mentioned – the resurgence of the racism and indiscriminate scapegoating he has been subjected to.

"He has shown the courage and bravery to speak up for all of those who are unfairly treated in Germany. Immigrants, Muslims and more. These are people he does not represent. Hoeness is clearly one of those people who is not able to face the issues that are in front of him, and is the one hiding behind false stats.

"Hoeness is no better than the people Mesut mentioned in his statement, as he has purposefully ignored this wider point. And has done so on purpose. Hoeness knows what he is doing. Issuing crazy comments about Mesut’s football, he thinks, it will create a big reaction and will cover the real issue.

"The issue he and many in Germany are scared to confront, an issue he would prefer to sweep under the carpet because he can’t face the uncomfortable truth. He shows the depth of his character and his true personality by ignoring this and making idiotic comments about football.

"Well, I will not let him succeed. Mesut has given everything for Germany on and off the pitch - contributed more to the country than he could ever dream of."
