There are games that have high requirements. You can play them but you'll be playing on very low settings and probably 30fpsWhat are you NOT able to do with this rig?

There's been a lot of issues with Borderlands 4 since the launch. People are saying it's poorly optimized, idk.Run Borderlands 4...smoothly

Yeah, BF beta was a month ago or soDamn, I was hoping these games had playable demos available so I could test 'em out on my rig.
Ok so I think it's my processor
My GPU is 8gb and struggling. This dude's is 4gb and his shit, while not pretty, his movement is pretty smooth. I'm glitching like crazy cause of the rendering
This is BF6 running on an i7-7770K, the fastest processor your motherboard supports, along with a more modern GPU.
This only helps me if the GPU is comparable
I might get away with just upgrading the processor to buy me some more time until a complete upgrade
Edit: so this GPU is still less GB than the one I have currently
Lemme see what the used i7-7770k hitting for
I have the Rx 590 but your point remains
Fwiw, I had issues early on in the beta but they released a patch and everything was perfect after that which is why I was surprised I'm having so many issues with the retail version
So I ended up uninstalling the driver, reinstalling it and it's running A LOT better now.Ok, gotcha. It looks like maybe they probably changed something and it's causing problems for you.
I do get there's a point where upgrading just isn't worth it unless the parts you add are stupid cheap. Like, I have this Dell Optiplex 3020 across the room from me and it's got an i5-4570 in it. Because there's typical Dell fuckery going on, the fastest processor I can throw in it is an i7-4790S, that "S" meaning a low power CPU (i.e 65W). This is because Dell's fuckery in this machine was with the PSU using a proprietary connector to the motherboard instead of a standard ATX connector so more powerful PSU's can't be added. This limits not only the CPU that can be used, but the GPU as well: I have to go with joints that have very low current draw. However, in this day and age, upgrading to the i7-4790 is only $30 from ebay. The current GPU in there is an older Radeon R9-360, which I copped for $21 from ebay. In theory, I could go as high as a Radeon RX 560 'cause they're pretty light on current draw, only about 65W, but I'd have to catch one for like $30 for the 4GB joint to make it worth it.
For your machine, maybe just a CPU upgrade will make the difference and make the game more playable. If you do that and it doesn't work, I'd probably just build a new machine, mainly because the next two steps are more RAM and a faster GPU, both of which might cost more than it's worth.

@SeaSnake If you can find a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 for cheap, grab it. I have one but I got it new back in 2020. Upgraded it to 32GB of RAM and it's pretty nice, even now.
This is me playing Doom Eternal on it.
I've been meaning to record a Destiny 2 run on it.
