COMMUNITY The fast food wages+ thread

Soooo.......where the people that were saying they couldn't afford to pay their workers more and if they had to increase the pay, they'd rather just fire everyone for robots & food would be soooo expensive?

Cuz time and time again we proved they'd tell that lie, wages wouldnt increase, then they'd resplace people with self check out or robots anyway.
 
For some reason, it really annoys me that the go to thing that most of the opponents to raising wages for fast food workers is to act like they are all incompetent and that you can never go to a fast food restaurant and get your food right and quickly. That's bullshit. These people probably hit up fast food spots every damn day, and if there is a small mistake 1 out of 100 times, they bitch.

It will eventually happen but likely not even within the next 10-20 years or even longer. It also will probably be a slow process like only available in some areas at first

It already started and they've been doing it more than 10 years ago. They make up stories to make sure the government doesnt raise the min wage, then after they succeed in keeping it low, they phase out employees wherever they can anyway. They've been doing this out in the open, yet some people still think they'd only do this in response to the government forcing them to pay a living wage.

SMH Why do people do this dumb shit? If she didn't have something already lined up then the places she's looking wont take her. If she does have something lined up, they may just get rid of her and save themself the trouble. Everybody doing dumb shit to go viral and have 15 minutes of fame, not thinking about the next 15 years. Just grab your shit, walk out, and enjoy the relief. No need for this immature shit.

Just saw this bullshit.

I worked at The Bagel Factory back around the end of 92 through early 93. I worked the morning shift, had to be there by 6am. By the time I got there we would already have a line forming. By the time we opened at 7am, the shit was a madhouse. Flavored coffee and bagels flying out the door non-stop for the next few hours. And because this was the 90's, we didn't have computerized touch screens with pictures and shit to ring up orders. The vast majority of the time we were adding shit up in our heads, telling the customer how much so they would get their money ready, then ringing it up after we made their order and our accuracy was pretty much spot-on every time. Also, this was a cash business, so none of that easy swipe and go shit either. We had to count it, ring it up, and give back correct change every time.

These new muhfuckas wouldn't have lasted through the first day if they gotta have a "crying corner" in the shop.
