We've hit a point where old shit bangin' out the ride will get more heads nodding, more smiles, and an overall positive reaction than this new shit. Shit that ain't even that old gets a better reaction than new shit.

That song anxiety by Doceii is mainstream but the streaming numbers are so low but the radio play was like top 10 a few weeks ago.

Certain music is being pushed by not really played

Shit went viral which pushed it into the top 10 billboard 100 but it’s not even a rap song

What’s crazy is she put that shit put a while back it just hit recently

It was top 10 due to radio play but the streaming numbers wasn’t even in the top 50 or some shit like

I feel that track fall under hip hop
 
So thus far in mid 2025 the only tractions are some shit Kendrick and Drake released in 2024

Cuz I dont know too many people that actually listen to the radio anymore.

I know streams and radio is calculated into it among a few other factors.

Radio plays a huge part in the numbers/ranking

Drake Nokia was number one all platforms but couldn’t get any radio play so he took him a while to hit #1 even though his framing numbers for that track was so far ahead.

As far as rap goes, I say No. My son-in-law is Gen-Z and we’ve had that exact debate several times. He’s a musician and he agrees with me for the most part. If I’m being honest he’s probably more critical of current music than I am, but he also has a deep love and appreciation for the art as I do.

You’re right. It never hit #1 on billboard

Which is weird because it hit #1 on Apple Music and US Spotify

It also hit #1 on Billboard Rhythmic Airplay Chart (I looked that one up lol)

but the radio spins was soooooo low and billboard factor in the radio so much they loweky kept it from reaching #1
