Is it bad if employees see their boss more like a mother than a boss?

When I was in the hospital the everyone working on one of the floors referred to the charge nurse on the floor as "mom". She had shit on point and she was respectful and respected by the people under her.

I wouldn't take offense or see it as a bad thing. A family type atmosphere is always the dynamic that should be strived for in most workplace situations imo. It's not ideal in some workplaces obviously.

Y’all think she can claim self defense? Idk

I swear some women do everything except make the first move.

"Did you introduce yourself?"

"No, but I dabbed some pussy juice on my pulse points."

Like these guys will come to me with their personal stuff like "I got these strange bumps on my arm and I don't what they are" or they will text me at any hour of the day with their concerns. Even my boss was like wtf, why do your employees text you at 4am!?! When I get to work they all clamber around me info dumping and I feel like a mom who just got home from work. I don't necessarily mind being viewed that way as I'm not a huge fan of bosses myself cuz theyre mostly just bossy, I'm just worried it may affect my ability to lead and direct them somehow.

Nah like @DOS_patos said it's high honor. You just need to set the tone for what you expect, what's acceptable and what's isn't inside and outside the workplace.

Like a mother it might take some time to reel em on some things,!might even get a rebellious one but the initial respect and NEED for you to lead is there. That bond is hard to break you just need to keep strengthening it.
