I haven't washed my own car in years. Too lazy, and don't have the time. Plus I like it when they detail it.

depending on the job, i value my time at x amount of dollars per hour. Yea, i could change my own oil, but it might eat into something else that i want to do b/c it will take me longer than the dealership. Depends on how you value your time will determine if changing your own oil is worth it

same with washing your own car vs taking it to a detail spot...there is really no wrong answer b/c you will fall into one of those two categories...unless you just like doing shit with your hands, and there is still nothing wrong with that

Tell em boo! Niggas in here acting like they full service mechanics and shit lol. Idk where you live but we had an HOA and you damn sure couldnt be out there changing your oil. Hell you couldn't wash your car in SA for a lot of months due to water restrictions.
The time thing is very relevant to me and to a lot of people as well cuz I am sure these the same people stopping by to get food when they probably know how to cook but just pay someone else to do it.

My point was you said why waste your time doing it when you can be doing other things so when you take it to the shop to have it changed what are you doing besides waiting for them to finish it. You are sitting around the shop doing nothing.

What, so now we have to work at jiffy lube to know how to change oil. Everyone wanna say they don't wanna waste their time, isn't your time being wasted waiting for them to fix or clean your car. Next thing will be why fix your own tire, call Triple A

Focus K, we talking about changing oil in your garage. So like I was saying, you could just pull your car into your garage and change your oil in that sum bitch.

im tired of this shit

aight...as someone who has changed their oil SEVERAL times in previous vehicles, let me walk you through a routine thats more than 15 min

since none of you niggas just have crates of oil just stored in your garages, you more than likely will have to drive to your local auto place. That shit is 15 min easy b/c even assuming you go straight to your type of oil and filter, you more than likely are doing this on the weekend and these places are fucking packed so bam...15 min shattered

drive back to the house and now you have to prep your driveway area b/c who likes oil spots and shit, but maybe you a G and dont give a fuck and dont lay nothing down.

So, now, we got to jack up the car...get under it, and try to unscrew the filter. Wait, did you let the car cool off first before you tried to take it off? Because that oil gon be hot af. But lets say you let the engine cool first. Another 15+ min gone...ok...so now the car is cool, its jacked up, and now you gotta unscrew the oil filter. Its your lucky day b/c the bitch is too tight. But lets say you didnt have that issue and it came off relatively easy...so now what?

lets drain the oil into the pan. 4-5 qts of oil. Not a super long time, but now you gotta put the new filter back on and dont forget to screw the oil pan screw in. Oil pan screw is back in...so now we pouring the new oil in, then let the car down off the jack

Now you gotta dump the oil somewhere, which means another trip back to auto zone or the equivalent, unless you unearthy niggas is just dumping it in your back yard, and if you doing that, fuck you

this shit probably took an hr + and you didnt wash your car

STOP LYING talking about you can do it in 15 min.

take my shit to the dealership, let them change the oil...they wash my car, and send me on my way while i got a chance to catch up on some reading.

you all are the worst kinda people
