The original Planet of the Apes had no black people as the slaved human race. This movie was a low-key telling white people what it would be like if blacks took over.

#staywoke
cain knows this because he applied to be an extra..and they gave him the ole...
:yikes:

like i said, the sequels lost the steam of the originals, i haven't even seen the new shit...

but planet of the apes has always been about the oppressed and the oppressors at it's core theme.....and using apes as a proxy for black folk....

no matter how much more science or drama or compelling story arcs they add into the sequels... at the core, it's a revolutionary tale about the oppressed...was it not?

have you seen "2001: A Space Odyssey"?

The dayum movie has 'coon' ass monkeys and has dayum monkeys 'lynched/hung and crucified' in what seem like a dayum concentration camp but it's about scientist and labs smh. Monkeys being whipped and everything smh. But yet it's about test-tubes and scientist smh

what did you think about the apes?

i mainly wanted to ask you your thoughts on the apes represented in the beginning
in that sense, cuz i saw the beginning...

the apes represented the dawn of man being introduced to something far beyond even our understanding today, and how we respond to the unknown....

i don't think it was related to planet of the apes, if that is where you were going.....

planet of the apes was about oppression..whereas space odyssey as i understand it is about the unknown and man vs machine or man vs science
