Ok it's tacky....so what? Do Keisha's 2 min interaction with Apu in 7-11 matter in the grand scheme of things since they may not ever see each other again? Is he hiring her for a 6 figure job? Proposing marriage? He gon ring that slurpy and chips up like he do every other customer and keep it movin whether she put together or not. Who cares.

Y’all looking to deep. Trying to find something to add to it for no reason

It’s tacky. Nothing more nothing less.

Trickle up effect.

Black women are trendsetters.

Y'all won't leave us alone about bonnets until everyone else decides that it's fashionable.

Gucci and Fendi bonnets about the flood the market... Ya favorite rappers gonna make it the hit accessory...

By that time we'll be on to the next wave for the world to bite.

It being tacky doesn't mean anything or stop you from moving around in the world. All I'm saying. So who cares.

Never said that. Never implied that. Never hinted at that.

It’s a ton a things everyone of us made a post on here about something and it doesn’t stop us “from moving around the world”

It’s just tacky. Same with dudes sagging, same with folks wearing PJ in public. Broken down car sitting on the street.

Nothing more nothing less

But ppl talked about how it shows you dont have pride in yourself for wearing it outside.

Since you aint never seen it worn to a real event, that should tell you mfs know the appropriate times to wear it and where not to. Running to the corner store or doing laundry with a bonnet on or some other kinda leisure wear has nothing to do with pride or tact.

@Dwayne No, YOU are calling it tacky and nothing more than that. The entire premise of this thread is based on Monique's post. She is saying something far more serious. And plenty of people in here have agreed with here and made this some sort of referendum about receiving opportunities and being treated a certain way.

YOU YOURSLEF talked about your own dress code when you're and about and related if to business opportunities. So why are we now in here acting like this is all just some silly thing that others are looking too deeply into?

I’m speaking for myself and only myself. Not judging what everybody else is saying.

I’m done with it though.

somewhere in my 20's i decided slides, pajama pants, wife beaters, etc werent cool for the store anymore....used to do it all the time but it just started feeling different.....the only time I wear a durag in public is under a skully

im not bothered by anyone else's corner store run gear or being comfortable

I get where the whole representation thing comes from, and im guilty of thinking that way sometimes....but the bonnets aint hurting nobody

The fact they aren't worn at graduations, at the club or at restaurants should tell you they are tacky to be worn outside and people know they shouldn't be worn outside

In my 20s walking to the mail box was a fashion show lol. I'd get ready to go to Kroger like I'm going out for the night. In my 30s tho shit has become less serious, ill throw on some pants and a shirt/basketball shorts in 15 seconds to make a quick store run. But I won't front and say there hasn't been a few times I felt embrassed when you run into people from work and shit.

Even shit like i used to didn't mind smoking a blunt in the whip and hopping out to go shop or run errands smelling like a whole gas pack but now I try and pop a edible so there is zero smell and make sure you couldn't tell I even fuck with the weed. Now when people walk past me smelling like they just smoked I'm just like u sloppy mf...lol its not right but shit..
