You're right, they aren't exactly the same. What I'm implying is that they share the same interest though, and neither has the greater interest of their constituents at heart. Ultimately, the idea that you have an option is the fabricated option between the two, and has been since the civil war probably.

The main difference in the two is that the Democrats have always disguised their pursuit of power with heroism and lies about the protecting the people, but they only want to remove individual liberties, not protect them.


Traditionally, you could expect the Right to protect individual liberty within the state, but they ultimate will sell you out on that for personal gain as well, they just do it more openly than Democrats.
