I think she'd help to balance Biden. It would also line her up for a run for president after Biden. She's a "younger" progressive with a bright future.
Can't the argument be made that having an AA woman as VP be the "guiding voice" on anything that affects all things 'black community' related as opposed to two old out of touch white guys/gals?

Courting delegates? Biden is the nominee unless something drastic happens. His VP doesn't need to court delegates at this point.

He doesn't "have" to pick one, but I just don't feel he's done anything to makeup for the past four decades. Biggest group carrying things election after election are black women, and its not even close. Yet they always get the short end of the stick.

My best guess is that it expands the electorate. All the white women VP picks are in states Dems don't need to play hardball to win and would only boost turnout for suburban whites (which the dems are already in decent numbers with Biden). Added benefit is that she'll essentially be the leader of the Democrats since it's getting more clear that Biden lasts as a single term executive. If I was Biden I'd choose Ayanna Pressley for the best of both worlds but she's too far left for his donor's standards anyway.
