I never said "Blacks dont support black owned businesses" or you might've been quoting something other people say. This is a very nuanced conversation that can't simply be boiled down to "blacks don't support black owned businesses"
At the crux of this issue is this pov that a lot of black people simply are not equipped to be business owners. Period
It sounds nice to want to shop black first but a lot and I do mean a lot of black business owners treat customers like the drug game. Your business shouldn't be operated like flipping a pack. You are not serving fiends where you can treat them like shit cause you know they can't go anywhere else.
When viable, I always try to support black owned businesses for something I can normally get other places. But the owners of these establishments have to view and value me as a repeat customer based on any good experience I get from them. Upcharging me for everything, taking me for everything, always trying to treat me as if I'm in the wrong if I have a legitimate complaint isn't the way to sustain a business.
I'm not trying to get shit for free. I am, however trying to have a decent to good experience when shopping with you so that I can spread the word.
But that's another reason the app is important if utilized properly.
A lot of black people for some reason like to lean on the excuse of "Black businesses aren't professional" so they continue shopping at white establishments that they know don't respect them to begin with. That logic is crazy, but ok, lets roll with that.
