I wish you all the success on your journey brother.

If I can make some money off the app.. cool. But it's really for us as a community. If we utilize the app properly it can make a significant difference.

Cuz all Target is gonna do is put a token nigga in this dude's place to be the puppet and niggas are gonna run right back. Same song and dance.

Target wasn’t that terrible to the black community as folks making it out to be.

They partnered with and stocked a lot of black owned businesses when others didn’t.

I understand somebody had to catch the bullets for not standing up to Trump, I just don’t think that Target should have been that company.

I can't get mad at how niggas wanna spend their money. I just think black people spending money only within our community solves multiple problems at once.

That’s why they were targeted cuz they were at the forefront of featuring black business, an initiative they abandoned when Carrot man got in office

He's just falling on the sword to make like they're gonna pivot. To make some people feel comfortable going back or change a bit then return to the status quo. This means little.

If it was that effective, Walmart and other anti-dei spots would be shook. It's the same shit and niggas gonna eat it up.
No he's leaving because he presided over the some of their worse performing quarters in recent memories

Not everything a conspiracy theory

It's not a conspiracy. They're numbers are down because niggas started to focus mostly on target to boycott(because Walmart and Amazon are too inconvenient to target). That inflates that 5-10% drop to become 21%

Walmarts are typically located in food deserts. Targets are not

While it is certainly possible to boycott Walmart, the impact won't be as immediate as target cause those communities need alternatives to shop whereas those currently don't exist

The Amanda Seales 20 v 1 is a great reminder for why it’s so hard for shit like this to happen

This is a very nuanced conversation that can't simply be boiled down to "blacks don't support black owned businesses"

At the crux of this issue is this pov that a lot of black people simply are not equipped to be business owners. Period

It sounds nice to want to shop black first but a lot and I do mean a lot of black business owners treat customers like the drug game. Your business shouldn't be operated like flipping a pack. You are not serving fiends where you can treat them like shit cause you know they can't go anywhere else.

When viable, I always try to support black owned businesses for something I can normally get other places. But the owners of these establishments have to view and value me as a repeat customer based on any good experience I get from them. Upcharging me for everything, taxing me for everything, always trying to treat me as if I'm in the wrong if I have a legitimate complaint isn't the way to sustain a business.

I'm not trying to get shit for free. I am, however trying to have a decent to good experience when shopping with you so that I can spread the word.
