I get what you're saying.
Psychologists divide consciousness into five levels unconscious, subconscious, conscious, preconscious, and non-conscious. I think scientists have a pretty good understanding of when the non-conscious and some aspects of the conscious (e.g., ability to sense and perceive) are met. It's the deeper stuff that's in question.
What I'm saying is that, as our scientific knowledge improves, we may gain better insight on when in the development process all the different levels of consciousness are achieved, but deciding what level of consciousness is enough for a life to deserve to be protected isn't a scientific call. It will come down to how the populace feels about the matter.

It’s an ethical decision in the end, but understanding the critical factors that play into that decision requires a level of scientific expertise that the general populace just not possess, myself included.

Agreed. I think part of the reason there is so much debate is that most people fighting don't have a strong understanding of any of the many complexities, but you can probably say that for any topic these days.

Nah White women in general are terrible people and are in way of any social progression in America.
As long as White women can marry upwardly mobile White men, they will have upwardly White men politics. They'll do whatever it takes to keep their fathers, uncle's, brothers, and husbands whole.
We all have to understand that White people vote as a family and not individuals.
