I'ma be serious real quick

There are a lot of emotionally unintelligent people that get super emotional over kids playing basketball. They have convinced themselves that an official will intentionally cheat for the team they are rooting against and some of these schools are old and small as fuck and the bleachers and shit are right on top of the court leaving very little separation between you and them.

They think paying the 7 bucks or whatever gives them the right to berate officials all game. I'm one of the better officials in my association so I don't get it nearly as bad as a lot of dudes but I'm but exempt from it either.

I'm able to ignore about 98% of it because I've come to learn that most of these niggas just wanna feel included and be part of the game so they think berating you accomplishes that. On the off chance I do engage with them, 9/10 times, it's the same response. "Man you know we gotta give you a hard time lol", and I'm like nah man, that's not cool. I don't know you. I don't know if you really mean what you saying out your mouth and I don't come out here to get berated. It's just a game. I don't know any of these kids out here. I have nothing to gain from this outside of what I'm being paid to be here.

But like I said, I don't get it nearly as bad. I've seen niggas straight up threaten niggas I was on the crew with and it got serious real fast. I wish I could still find the video but a nigga in my association got snuffed from behind while he was calling a game.

This is a very simplistic view. I can beat a nigga up but I still have to go outside to my car. The fan might have gotten kicked out but that nigga might be on some other shit and feel like there's a point to prove.

You talking to someone who's spent most of the last 16-17 years doing security tho. I get it but you not getting sympathy from me on this. I've dealt with your rare worst case scenarios regularly.

Some work not for everybody.
