Especially when you consider that nothing they do happens without serious planning. The fact that their aides debated this for hours and no one said yo this is a terrible look shows how out of touch these politicians are.

I'm pretty sure I know how this came about. One of the Senators (most likely Nancy Pelosi), told their staff to think of an idea to make them look good for this movement & to get votes. Staff said ok, then when she left, the told their unpaid interns to think of some shit they could present. Keep in mind like all interns in D.C., arnt black and come from families with money. Only someone rich can afford to move to DC and work like 60 hours a week for free (Certain people have been trying to change that to get more diversity in there but thats a topic for another thread).

So these affluent interns who are most likely not POC and since they're well off, most likely dont hang around average black people, came up with this brilliant plan. Prob got inspired from watching Black Panther or tryng to copy a video they saw on twitter. They present it to the staffers who are most likely white. They fill their presentation with plenty up talk and enthusiasm like typical silicion valley pitches. Then the white staffers repeat the pitch to Senators. They all think they're brilliant and cool.

Keep in mind. Even if there is a black person on staff that knows this is a bad idea, they prob arnt in a position of power. So even if they bring it up, everyone is going to call them negative,disruptive and dismiss w/e they say. Most of you know what its like to be the only black person with a bunch of white people in a professional setting. Even if we taking being black out of the equation, you know office politics. If you said an idea was terrible that a bunch of higher ranking white people thought was good, & the boss agrees with you. They're bout to sabotage ur ass for making them look bad. I'm sure whoever thought this was terrible just sat back and let them pat themselves on the back while heading to this train wreck.
