COMMUNITY Social Justice Thread: R.I.P. George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor & now Tyre Nichols

i agree but.......does what has to be burned down have to start with your own?
if shit gotta burn.....why not other people shit.
shit thats apart of the system?
shit in other peoples hood.

and if you burn down your own shit......whos going to help you build things back? who would you want to build it back?
the system, the oppressor or those that look like you and support you?
I’ve seen you show more passion for buildings than the reason for why all this is happening. Roundabout niggas ain’t shit talk...

When they attack random INNOCENT black people then I care. When those groups start consistently looking at things from our side then I’ll change my stance.

Fair. I have no problem with you taking that stance. All I'm saying, is don't get mad when other groups take that stance towards us.

You called what I said "coon talk," but I wasn't defending the Latin Kings. I was pointing out that their actions were forseeable, and people who advocate for looting and destruction even of white owned business have to understand that this is a consequence of advocating those types of actions.

It's quite clear and you're right this is way bigger than George Floyd. What happened to Floyd was just the spark to the some of gasoline that's been slowly dripping for years.

@AZTG is 100% right we have roles to play. IMO all those roles and players need to be connected. Also I feel we damn near need to always do the exact opposite of what each groups tells the media. We have to be able to be throw these people off and be unpredictable in the moves we make. Being predictable is a weakness that can be exploited.

And thats the hard part. A random protestor and a random looter dont have to be connected, but the people that are leading and organizing them, they have to always be on the same page.

Same with having a political party that does thing by the books, and an org that will burn shit down as soon as things get crazy.

In public they disagree, but leadership knows they need eachother and that they are fighting for the same goal.

Right now that leadership doesnt seem to exist. Or they do and im ignorant. The issue without having that leadership on both sides is that the system will divide the two groups.

Have the the none violent and violent protestors fight eachother and not the system.

Its already happening in this thread.

Thousands of cars arent gonna drive into a suburb to burn down 5-6 stores/buildings fam.

Like I understand exactly what you are saying, its great on paper, but its not realistic.

Wasting our time on unrealistic options does nothing.

Most of the businesses and most of the people are in the inner cities, and thats what will be burnt down.
A few looted king of Prussia.
Couldnt get into willow Grove or Cheltenham malls.

Crazy how when people want the looting to chill they can stop it in its tracks.

Got to rodeo drive.

People can do what they want when they want.

This shit is so easy to see and understand but as usual when you want shit the way you want it. It's hard to see shit another way and how the way you want it don't make sense.

Politicians do it all of the time. They tell us what they want to do for us then the next minute they do the complete opposite. And we always look around and say that is not what you said you were going to do. We need to start making those same type of moves.

They BEEN took that stand against us lol.

Their actions were nothing more than an excuse to practice anti black racism. It’s one thing if a bunch of guys were there tearing up stuff and they were defending their property. But attacking women and children who were not doing anything is a cowardly act that under no circumstances is something I can so call see their point of view on.

I reject the idea that looting is protesting at all. The destruction that's targeted at police buildings and government buildings filled with politicians that refused to act can be seen as as reasonable violent protest. Sacking Rite Aid and then burning it down is not a protest. It doesn't have anything at all to do with the issue and it's counterproductive because it allows enemies of the cause to use it to drown out the real concerns.

I meant connected in fighting for the same goal.

It's no leadership cause just damn near any random adult would've stopped those kids from jumping that fat kid who took whatever he had that they wanted. Could've let the fat kid keep it moving and spoke to the other kids about what they need to be doing. Even if that was telling them a better way to loot shit and not get caught.

Might be fucked up to some but even in committing crimes good game and leadership can be given and shown to the youngins so they don't make the same mistakes that you may have made coming up.

I get what you saying all the way

If there is an election in November. I really hope ppl vote. frfr
glad you posted this as it sparked another thought i had

i know its not gonna happen, but they really need a do over with this shit

i want my ballot to say "not trump or biden" and open this shit back up to some other candidates

Looting and destruction of buildings are all a part of war in my opinion.

Maybe I should ask. Are black people at war? Is this a war, or a better way to ask, does this feel like a war if you're a black person?

Hope everybody's out here being safe

Bruh, you already applauded that type of behavior in the thread about the Asians in Africa. You are ok with that kinda behavior. You just don't like when blacks are on the receiving end. Just be honest. And if you don't like when blacks are on the receiving end, then you shouldn't be advocating for actions that will put blacks in that position such as the destruction of infrastructure in black neighborhoods that would inevitably force blacks to have to go to other neighborhoods for basic necessities.

This is war and destruction of buildings is part of war. If you're trying to win a war you don't go around destroying every random building you see though. You attack the buildings that would most weaken the enemy. All that extra shit is savagery, and that's why something like the Geneva Convention exists and why modern war has rules.

The owners, board members of target, rite aids, etc support the systems that oppresses us with donations to police unions, politicians and lobbyists. So yes burning and looting those stores are part of the issue that we are fighting against.

It's all connected

You know that for sure. Do you have a paper trail showing that all these businesses that are being destroyed donate to the police and fund that oppression. You make a good point, but is that really what's happening now or do we honestly just have a lot of mad people and opportunists that are trying to capitalize off the chaos?

I feel you.

Personally, im not looking at things in a vacuum.

Im not gonna get into a ton of details and derail the thread but im not even looking at this as a strictly american issue.

Similar things happen all over the place. Rioting and looting becomes necessary at some point. Theres a ton of historical examples that prove it.

You got to give the power structure something for them to want to avoid happening again.

While I disagree w the looting and the shooting of cops, it’s unfortunately a necessary response for what’s going on. I truly pray that we see change, and not just a slight change, but a massive change. It’s going to take time but that’s fine.

We need the correct wisdom and discernment to take place within the system.

This will not happen under President Trump.

I haven’t watched the video of George Floyd. I don’t want it haunt me like the killing of Walter Scott’s video did. I still replay that video over and over in my head. That should’ve been the start of all what is happening. But now, we see a response unlike anything we have ever seen. Mass protests and not just in the states, but across the world. That speaks volumes because they, too, see the mistreatment and they have now grown tired of it.

I do see something coming from this but under the right people. It won’t happen under the current staff of Republicans, though, and same for the Democrats. It’s time for a new generation to infiltrate and push out the people who can’t even slightly understand the problem Blacks face in America.

This new generation needs to be in our offices & in the police departments. It’s the only way we will truly see change.

Praying w a heavy heart.

Talk that shit

Some black businesses are all not for black people, the owners get into this entitlement feeling when white dollars and white customers patronized them and they forget that they are black people first, that sambo energy is formed. Let's tell it like it is, All Black Businesses are not always for black people, it's good to get white dollars but don't sell out, unfortunate in a time like this, everybody must feel the heat.

You have a connection with the black community, hire black workers, go out and try and advertise towards black folks, be seen in the black community, do giveaways etc, hosts events, etc, in most cases, those black businesses, even some whites maybe passed over in a time like this
