To you? Because courts seem to be inconsistent on that point and it's not as settled as you imply. The fact is parents are supposed to provide for their children, and the parents not remaining together after creating the child shouldn't affect how the child is cared for. By that reasoning, the child should receive the same benefits from the parent as if that child were living with the parent. I'm not saying that if CB is out raining money everywhere that his child should be doing the same. I'm saying that if CB made a child, the child shouldn't be treated as second class just because CB didn't want the mother.

Child support is not an allowance for the child. It is a payment from the non-custodial parent to the custodial parent. Every parent has a legal and moral responsibility to take care of their children. They have to provide the basics needed to ensure a decent life. This includes shelter, food, clothing, security, guidance, education etc. The custodial parent provides these things as part of day to day living. The non-custodial parent provides this financially. Every child (even newborns) uses electricity and water and they need food. You don't change them in the dark, you turn on the lights. You bathe kids, they flush the toilet. The bills increase with every person in the household. Essentially the non-custodial parent is paying the custodial parent to take care the kid. People don't like it but the custodial parent doesn't have to justify how any of the child support payments are spent as long as the child is taken care of. The child support payments are to be included as part of the monthly budget.

That's a stupid way to look at child support.
I could see if the parents were married then divorced, then there's a marginally reasonable argument to be made for a child's "lifestyle" in the same way that women seem to believe they're supposed to continue the lifestyle they're used to and seek alimony.
But that ain't the case here.
This is just a broad he, stupidly, knocked up. Ain't no lifestyle to maintain 'cause there never was one to begin with.
Take care of your child's necessities and that's it. Anything above that can happen when you're out with your child and you wanna do shit with them. Them trips to Six Flags can happen on HER dime if she wants to go. Now if Chris picks up his daughter and wants to take her to an amusement park then that's on HIS dime.
I just did mah googles on this situation. Nia Guzman ain't broke. The bitch is gettin alimony from her previous marriage and has her own income. She ain't broke by any stretch of the imagination and Chris is already paying more than enough to take care for his daughter.

You're so focused on the mother. Who gives a fuck about the mother? The child is HIS. As a result, he has a responsibility towards that child. He's a fucking millionaire. His child shouldn't be in a position where doing some simple shit like going to Six Flags is too much. Him not wanting to be with that child doesn't lessen his responsibility towards that child. Exactly, so he should take care of his child and that's it. Take it from a dude with 4 kids; that shit don't cost that fuckin much. Even if you were to factor in utility bills, a part of the rent and all of that it don't cost no $6000 a month to take care of 100% of his daughter's expenses and getting the mom off the hook for anything. That's some bullshit right there. I don't give a fuck where they living the shit don't cost that much.
The fact that he has millions doesn't mean shit! That's what y'all got fucked up. How much he makes has no bearing on how much money it takes to care for his child which is why there's some states like Nevada that are far more sensible when it comes to child support. Out here, no matter how much money he makes the absolute maximum he could ever be ordered to pay is $1100 a month for one child.

The fact that he's a famous millionaire means a lot. Chris Brown's child (any rich and famous persons child) needs more security than the average kid. They can't just live in a regular neighborhood anymore than Chris Brown himself can. They both need insulation from the public. Raging fans, jealous enemies, opportunists, kidnappers are all out there and his child needs the same protection Chris himself has. The fact that the mother benefits also is irrelevant. He should have picked better but he didn't and that's a lesson teacher right there.

I agree with your first paragraph. I said as much in my initial post. How much he makes absolutely does have a bearing on how much he has to pay. I'm not even really sure how you're basing your argument. From a legal standpoint it matters because that's how the courts does it. From a moral standpoint it matters because you should be providing for your kids to the best of your ability not just meeting the bare minimum. What kinda logic is that. Just because the kids of some dude making 50k a year get by with a certain lifestyle, doesn't mean that's all a guy making 5M a year should be providing.
