By law, Article 5 means an attack on any NATO country is an attack on all NATO countries and every NATO country has to respond with military force.

Ukaraine is not a NATO country. If Ukraine was a part of NATO, and Russia invaded, the other NATO countries will have no choice but to go and fight Russia or leave NATO
