Weird seeing folks simp for the Ukraine acting all aghast that “refugees are fleeing” and welcoming them with open arms. “I can’t believe this is happening in 2022. It’s like it’s the early 1930s again!!” Like we ain’t had a plethora of mass evacuation events from people fleeing war in the last decade

And when it was refugees from nations of people with slightly more tan complexions it was all
“Get off my porch, bitch.”
 
It’s wild that we are watching a war take place live as it happens on tiktok, YouTube and Twitter. Watching true human interaction of the realties of war and staying behind as your family leaves. If 9/11 happened today, we would’ve seen and heard so much more than we ever would’ve imagined.


I’m 35 I’m done living through historical events like this for the next 10 years.

I would continue my family tradition of going to prison instead of military.

Had a uncle get locked up during the vietnam war. He got offered either join the military and go to vietnam or serve his prison sentence. He chose prison.

I salute him for that choice and showing me the way.
