PLAYSTATION PlayStation 5

That's the only PS I had an issue w/. That 1 gen PS3 w/ backwards capabilities went dead on me like 2 years in.

I held on to that shit too til like 2017/18. Still trying to get it fixed. No dice.
I was lucky. Had the lower storage fat one for years. One night I was bragging to a few friends that had theirs overheated and that I had no issues with mine. Next week it overheated. Karmas a bitch. I opened it up and used flux to fix the overheating but it was a temporary fix. Ended up having to get the slim

Physical drive or the digital? Kinda leaning towards the digital tbh
Go digital, man. I realized I've been digital on Steam for like 11 years, now. Not too many games (relatively speaking), but having game discs are overrated. I have a stack of ps3 and 360 games in a closet just collecting dust at this point. Last I checked, they barely include shit in the cases, anyway. These days, what used to be colorful, and detailed manuals are replaced with black and white slips of paper with dlc codes or someshit, unless you buy some 150+ deluxe version. The digital model should be cheaper, too. Also, better for the environment if you're into that kind of thing, lol.

only thing is 825gb ssd is too small. I got a 2tb intenal and a 2 tb external both probably cost me about $160 together. By contrast, a 4tb ssd cost like $400+

The small SSD is a bit concerning. We can probably expect these games to be big as hell, so they will likely take up a lot of space on the SSD. Also, the SSD is specialized and the third party SSDs that can work with the PS5 will be limited and may not offer the same benefits. I guess the upshot is that you probably won't be playing 10 games at the same time, so you can always save your games on an external harddrive when you're not really using them.

Yeah but if you want to replay a old game that got like a new dlc for example, you got to redownload the game, redownload the day 1 patch and then redownload the update. And that’s if you don’t have to delete another game off the ssd to make room

Yeah, to be honest, it's a bit weird for them to have one SSD size for both systems. I mean if you're playing exclusively digital, it should be a given that you'll need more space. I get that there SSD is a custom option, but they couldn't create that option in two sizes?

i guess the external depends on if you can use external hdd or you can only use external ssd. If it’s the latter then external ssd going to cost the same as a system. If you can use external hdd you not going to get the benefit of the fast loading if you run games off that, so now you in the process of swapping games from the external onto the internal to take advantage of the ssd benefits

The reason why they did that because if they went with a 4tb ssd then system would definitely cost like $1000 so they went with this small ass ssd to cut price

Nah, it's more to it than that. They aren't even giving us a full 1tb. Their big selling point is how new and innovative the SSD is. If that's true, then you're right, increasing it's size would definitely ratchet up the cost. But I'm not even asking for anything like 4tb. If the one with a drives is ~.8tb. They could have at least given us a ~1.6tb drive for the digital version.

You gonna need 4tb cause 4K graphics don’t come cheap. Then on top of that, day 1 patches and updates, that 825 going to get used up fast

That's another reason why I'm leaning towards getting the regular one. 4K movies are huge. Don't know how big a 4K game will be

The only thing that would remotely make me consider a Xbox is that somebody tries to hack my PS account like once every two weeks after successfully doing it this time last year

Two step verification is a life saver

i got my shit jacked one time too so those email notification be having me shook

motherfuckers took my shit and locked me outta my own games so they could play em

Damn. Was that during that PlayStation hack that took online down for a month or was that something else?
After that I made my password so damn difficult I couldn't remember it by heart anymore lol

Yea, it was around that time but it was like maybe 2 months after the news of people being hacked broke. So I think there was still hacking going on after the fact
