Polygamy is a gateway to deviant behaviour. It's my destiny but I wonder how it will work in the Western world.

The western world is a poison that will intoxicate any institution.

Women are abused in general, and no not ignoring it, just pointing out that polygamy isn't a cause for abuse, and linking the two is as bad as linking child abuse to homosexuality. It happens, but to say thats the reason people are gay, which people have said, is ridiculous.

Women who choose to be bartered and traded like baseball cards, as you say, should be allowed to choose that. I don't think that would happen, but even if it did, again this is still america and there are laws that protect women from abuse, rape, etc. Those laws wouldn't disappear after polygamy became legalized, so they wouldn't be in any more danger than they already are.

That's a strong and proven link. Not all cases but a lot. Also abuse in polygamy is a tactic, much like a cult to allow the abused one to reflect on their behaviour. And rectify such actions in the future proving their worth so they aren't hit.

It's all quite interesting but the dark side of it is quite present. Kids marry early, self-worth isn't developed as it would be in a proper nuclear family. And these kids are oversexualized often practicing on each others.

You just repeated what I said about homos and remade my point that it does happen because of abuse, on occasion, but no, not all gay people are that way because they're products of abuse. So stop... and You talking about the kind of religious/cult polygamy that exists whether it's legal or not and that's not really representative of the whole. Polygamy could be great for people who choose as adults to do it. I'm not saying grown predator men should be allowed to abuse children and force them into marriages they don't want. Those kind of people don't care if it's legal or not, they already do it. Regular marriages can end up the same exact way. I know two girls who had arranged marriages at 16 to dudes 40+. Should marriage be illegal cause that happens? No.

Two, three, five, seven grown adults making grown decisions shouldn't involve anyone but those people. They should have the right to choose that.

And what about polyandry? You think women in those relationships abuse their husbands? That it's bad for their families? Have you studied societies that practice the two because there's plenty of positive ones. Don't focus on the negative. If that's the case, marriages in general tend to end in divorce, that's pretty negative. So people could just not believe in marriage altogether. But they still gonna get married. Let poly people live.

I wasn't talking about Cult polygamy, rather I was referring the practices cults use emotional and abusive tactics to their members. Like a cult, polygamy operates in similar ways. There is a leader who outlines the mission or focus for the group.

Plays favourites with members, uses reverse psychology to manipulate members into revealing secrets or improving behaviour. Can't be questioned to change the rules, children are stunted psychologically.

At twelve years old these kids are going through a rite of passage, girls to be married and boys to find a wife. A point not known is that if a boy doesn't find a wife he is kicked out of the family and left to fend for himself. At 12 years old.

Polygamy is a type of grooming that should be illegal everywhere. Just like Incest is illegal, polygamy is. There aren't a lot of positives that outweigh the negatives. When discussing the creation of a law or ban, pros and cons are necessary.

The fact that the man or woman is the dependent on a relationship lasting in which multiple partners rely on for support is traumatic. Once the head honcho dies, loses limbs, or breaks off the relationship that wife/husband is displaced in society, assuming like most they are a stay at home guardian. Too much depends on the father/mother for it to go right for it to not destroy the lives of multiple humans.

Polygamy also isn't 5 wives with 12 children in total. Most wives average 5 children. The wealth distribution practically makes it, for bigger families that you have to be a millionaire, unless living near a ranch.

Polygamy and polyandry are degenerate practices on the institution of marriage. I'm not even going to talk child support.

Actually I remember a bit (polyandry) from a Sociology/Anthropology class but that's a while back.

And there you go still talking about cult ideas, children, and "leaders," smh. When people have a CHOICE this isn't a problem. Just because it becomes legal does not mean women and children are gonna be forced into being in polygamist relationships that they don't want. And if it goes south, divorce is still an option. Stop projecting a few flaws in polygamy on everyone, like everyone has those problems. They do not.

Your idealism blocks you from seeing perspective. Divorce destroys the polygamy arrangement and leaves the women who don't work stranded trying to get child support.

The stats are there that the kids are practicing on each other but I'm sure you'll dismiss that too. Pedophilia will always exist in these hive families they are more prevalent.
