Official Wrestling News Thread

On the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Lesnar was cleared by WWE’s lawyers to return about a month ago. He also discussed what the legal department clearing Brock says about the status of Grant’s suit:

“The short version of this is that four weeks ago, WWE legal cleared him. As far as why, I don’t know. Obviously, everything relates to the Janel Grant lawsuit.
“Either they’re confident that things are going to arbitration and Lesnar’s not a factor at that point, or they’re close to a settlement and then, at that point, Lesnar’s not a factor, or somebody there just had a change of mind, and I don’t know which one of those it is.”

New WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins appeared on The Rich Eisen Show today.

Eisen jokingly mocked that Rollins was late and in traffic, but they can't trust what he says. He then noted that Rollins was taking his time getting into position because he's "so hurt."

Rollins appeared in complete character, showing off his title belt, cackling. Rollins said the show played an "integral role" in the entire "ruse."

Rollins said he loves the show, but he "can't divulge his secrets" when asked if he was actually hurt while he was hosting their show. He instead plugged appearing on Raw tonight and said he just wanted to be here to thank them for giving him a platform to "fool the entire world."

Rollins said his wife Becky Lynch was an 'unwitting participant' in the ruse and was "very upset" about having to lie to friends and families. He told his daughter that he had a pretend "boo boo" but she told her teacher. Rollins joked he had to tell her to kayfabe and thankfully she and the teacher didn't tell anyone else.

Rollins said being on the crutches for three weeks was excruciating. He took his daughter to school on them. He went out on them. He said that it was very irritable and said he thought he was going to hurt his shoulders. Rollins noted he was pushed through the airport and thanked the woman who did that.

We have an update on Karrion Kross and Scarlett.

Fightful Select has learned from sources backstage at WWE Raw that Karrion Kross and Scarlett are not at WWE Raw and aren't planned for the show. Beyond that, we've learned an update on their contract status.

Fightful Select is told by a WWE higher up that Kross and Scarlett's deals are up this weekend, and that a new WWE deal hasn't been offered to either of them. However, to our knowledge, they weren't informed that their contracts would be set to lapse.

We'll continue to monitor the situation.
