For those wondering why R-Truth vs. Aleister Black was just 90 seconds on last night's Friday Night Smackdown after several weeks of being built up, there was a very good reason for it, PWInsiderElite.com reported over the weekend

While the finish went as planned, the length of the match and much of what was planned bell to bell was drastically cut due to the previous segment involving Jellyroll and Logan Paul, etc. going much longer than initially expected Since time had to be cut from the broadcast on the fly, Truth vs. Black lost the lion's share of their ring time.

One WWE source described it as a "necessary evil" and that the short bout shouldn't have been seen as a knock on either Truth or Black. We are told that had the match gone it's originally planned length, there would have been far more to the bout, as opposed to the one-sided nature of Truth winning.

The short match surprised a LOT of people in the back given how strong Truth has been pushed in recent weeks since his return and the planned ascension of Black on the Smackdown side of the roster.

We are told this was not a sign of either of those things being dropped.

Among the WWE sources we've spoken to in both the locker room and executive ranks, everyone was thrilled with last night's WWE Evolution.

There was also a lot of happiness for Naomi's ascension to the WWE Women's World Championship as she's very much respected and appreciated behind the scenes.

The feeling among those we spoke to is they'd "have to do" another Evolution show after the excellent quality of the show last night, but there's no set timetable as to if or when that happens - and those we spoke to made it clear nothing has been decided, just that in their opinion, it's logical there would be another after the execution of last night's show.

Saraya (Paige) noted on her social media she's currently in Hawaii, so she was never slated to be at the PPV.

There was some anticipation that AJ Lee would be there last night among readers since WWE had added content featuring her to their YouTube channels of late, but we are told there was no connection there. Lee retired in 2015.
