The decision to have WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg win the WWE Universal Title from “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at WWE Super ShowDown earlier this year was a last-minute change, according to Wrestlezone.

Goldberg reportedly did not want to risk damaging his image, so he bargained for “creative control” to push for the title win because The Fiend was a monster and younger fans needed to see him come out on top, or it would ruin his character.

Goldberg has said in the past that he believes kids see him as a super hero.

It was noted that Wyatt agreed to put Goldberg over, which may have gained him some more favor in the locker room.

There’s no word yet on if Goldberg will return to a WWE ring, but it could be a long time, if at all. Wrestletalk reports that Goldberg’s current deal had his final appearance at WrestleMania 36 this past weekend, where he dropped the title to Braun Strowman. Strowman was replacing Roman Reigns, who didn’t feel safe competing during the coronavirus pandemic due to his immune system.

Goldberg reportedly had no intention of adding more dates to his WWE contract, but it was also noted that WWE may not be in a hurry to bring him back any time soon due to how he lobbied for the change with The Fiend.

Rhea Ripley will reportedly be off WWE NXT TV for a while.

Ripley had to return to Australia this week because her visa was expiring, according to PWInsider. While it’s been rumored that WWE will resume live TV shows later this week, word is that they are scheduled to tape a few episodes of NXT this week, and Ripley won’t be able to make it back in time.

There’s no word yet on if Ripley returning to Australia for her visa had anything to do with her dropping the title to Charlotte Flair at Night Two of WrestleMania 35. There’s also no word yet on when Ripley might be back as many travelers are experiencing delays right now due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Flair should be returning to NXT TV soon as the new champion. Tomorrow’s episode will feature a six-woman Ladder Match to crown the new #1 contender to Flair, featuring Io Shirai, Mia Yim, Tegan Nox, Dakota Kai, Chelsea Green, and Candice LeRae.

Them having a show on E! helps their case for being in the HOF because of the publicity and Brie being married to DB

If u ever seen the previews for that show it literally has zero substance, atleast with the other E shows and Love and HipHop shit it's some type of drame/fake drama that kind of makes it seem shit about to go down... Bella show is the opposite. Who the fuck watches this shit.

Do they have that no compete clause or can they sign with anyone right now?

I’m looking. One site said since it’s an immediate release that the 90 day no compete clause may not apply. We all know where they are going eventually

AEW stop their tapings for the imediate future I don't think anyone will sign them until these promotions are able to do shows. I think only TNA are still doing shows

Update: According to Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin, the team is free to work wherever they choose because they do not have a no-compete clause, and that’s why WWE’s statement including the phrase “immediate release.”
