Official Wrestling News Thread

We've had readers from several countries, including Mexico, Brazil and Israel send word that Netflix is not only listing Raw live for January 2025, but WWE NXT and Friday Night Smackdown as well.

As we have covered previously, as existing WWE international deals expire, they will be moving to Netflix. The shows will all air live on Netflix, meaning WWE content will truly be airing globally at the same time.

This is also going to add a lot of value to other wrestling promotions. As deals expire in different markets, it opens up the potential for other companies to make deals internationally, as AEW did with FOX Sports Mexico, replacing WWE programming there. AEW, TNA, MLW, etc. could all be in for a potential boom of additional international broadcast homes.

A major name looks to remain with World Wrestling Entertainment for years to come.

PWInsiderElite.com can confirm that the company and Rhea Ripley have come to terms on a new contract with everything but the actual signing taken care of. We were told by one source it's "just a matter of time" before it's signed and sealed.

Ripley was one of several talents approached last month about a new deal.

The word making the rounds is that Ripley would be locked in for 5 years when the deal is signed and that she will be getting a considerable raise contractually, one that is obviously, well deserved.

The Australian star initially signed with WWE back in 2017 and has risen to becoming one of the most popular talents in the company, having won the WWE Women's Championship as well as the Raw Women's, WWE NXT Women's, NXT Women's, and the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship among other accolades. A 2023 Women's Royal Rumble winner, Ripley has to be considered at the forefront of Wrestlemania main eventers for next year.

I don’t know why you expect anything from numbers at all…it’s not an indicator of anything of importance…as shown by the announcement of the deal. WBD gave AEW crazy money with the numbers being lower than ever.

That should be the sounding alarm for everyone to stop posting that bullshit because ratings dont change anything. This ain’t 1997.

Exactly.
