Beginning Aug. 7, Michael Cole and Wade Barrett will serve as the commentators for “Monday Night Raw” on USA Network. This marks a return to “Raw” for Cole, who first appeared on the show in 1997 and has served as one of the key members of the broadcast desk for various stretches of time ever since.

It will be Barrett’s first time doing commentary for “Raw.” In addition to his in-ring career, Barrett was previously a commentator for WWE’s NXT before moving to “Friday Night SmackDown” on Fox in late 2022.

Cole will also remain on the commentary team for “SmackDown,” where he will be joined by Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves beginning Aug. 11.

If they wasn’t gonna give us Titus over KP this was the next best thing. Cole & Barrett gonna make Raw better and I guess I can live with Corey / Cole on Smackdown with very VERY little of KP

An “an individual with knowledge of the situation” told Variety one reason for the change is because the company is high on Patrick and thinks he’ll benefit from working with Cole every week.

As of WrestleMania 39 there were no active plans for Roman Reigns and we’re told that it wasn’t seriously considered for WrestleMania 39 either.

WWE sources spoke with Fightful ahead of Roman Reigns facing Jey Uso at Summerslam, and indicated there were no active plans for Roman Reigns to lose the WWE Universal Champion as of WrestleMania. Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso weren’t ever heavily planned or scheduled to win the title.

When we bluntly asked when Roman Reigns will lose the WWE Undisputed World Championship “whenever Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman say it fuckin' ends.” So in the event Roman Reigns loses the World Championship, it was said that the two would have heavy input as to who that would be, whether it be tonight, or a year or two down the line.

"They are constantly looking at every possibility. When they think it's the very best thing for business, they'll know to switch it up, do it right, and really make someone doing it," the higher up indicated.

Fightful was told that the process of developing the title match, the result, and the plan to move forward with Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar after WrestleMania was “very transparent,” and that Cody Rhodes knew well ahead of time that would be the result of WrestleMania 39. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman also knew well ahead of time that Reigns would be retaining, as Fightful Select had previously reported.

The source justified it by saying Roman Reigns is hotter than ever, Solo Sikoa is about to be able to draw real money, Jey Uso is a legit attraction, Jimmy Uso is about to be, and Cody Rhodes is hotter now than before WrestleMania.

This is BS if true then again, this is dirt sheets talking...

If this is true how the fuck does Reigns get to make the actual decision on who he drops the title to? I thought that decision was ultimately made by HHH or Vince (as it should be). That's like Hogan back in the day saying I'm not dropping the title to Warrior or Taker. Or Taker saying I'm not putting Lesnar over at WM XXX.

The right guy was Cody at mania and he's the right guy now. Now he's just holding on to the title to keep his stupid family on top damn everyone else

I guarantee the part of the article saying its up to Roman and Paul is complete bullshit. Yeah they might have creative input but the higher ups def are making the final call and where it ends. Roman v Cody II at Mania 40 hopefully is still the worked up plan.
