Wouldn't that be a Smackdown superstar winning a RAW title though?

Not really. Him winning would put him on RAW. Otherwise this is simply too easily predictable and too much of a spoiler that Rollins is the 100% win. I’m not a fan of the SD stars competing for the title for this reason but the draft has always been goofy.

There’s been world champions that have been able to be on shows while filming movies. See John Cena

Yeah, but Triple H made it a point to say that the champ WILL be there. I’m not sure Seth’s role and how absent he would be but the reasoning for the new title rather than splitting throws this out there. I think we are all pretty confident that Seth is winning but it’s also unpredictable at the same time. Personally I think Seth still wins, that’s Trip’s guy.

And that's what was reported in the beginning. That they were planning on having a SD guy win and be moved over to RAW.

So Smackdown drafted someone and let them participate in a tournament where if they win they'd be moved to Raw thus wasting a draft pick? Huh?

And Smackdown drafting people just to allow them to compete for a Raw exclusive title where if they win, they gotta go to Raw thus wasting a pick

Fantastic writing there. Bravissimo

Except...

It's also unclear what would happen if a SmackDown star wins the tournament (will they stay on SmackDown with the title? Would they be moved to Raw? etc.).

The draft makes less sense this year than it ever has. It's almost as if the new world title was an unplanned idea.

Let me guess, Aj Styles is gonna win the tournament and become a "free agent" and decide to stay on raw? Lol

Here's Mark Henry last year talking about the booking of the brand split

On a recent Busted Open Radio episode, Mark Henry criticized the way WWE handled Rousey’s booking as he thinks the company ignored the brand split entirely. “You know, I know the answer to this but I thought there was a legitimate brand split. I thought that people on Monday do Monday things, and people on Friday do Friday things. I can honestly say that I am genuinely tired of it. Listen, if y’all going to mash ’em, just mash ’em. Make one set of titles for the company. If one brand does not have the title on it, have the #1 contender on the other brand. The pay-per-views can be challenges. It’s ridiculous, man. If you’re going to do it, do it… or don’t. I was in defense of it all these years but I can’t do that anymore. I feel like my intelligence is being insulted. Keep people where they belong.``

The rumor that a SD superstar would win it and be traded to RAW. Idk why they didn't just draft him to RAW. Either something changed or they fucked up
