You don’t switch trainers cause you lose a title 99% in your field will never have

Won the title with them folks from 0

Just get better. Address the humbling. All the way around as a team

J Rock really just put on a great performance in a excellent fight.

Gary Russell say it’s a mental war, body just following command. Hurd was reminded. Use the gifts together. Dude bounced back from a 2nd rd equilibrium rattling to take his pound of flesh. Great fight

Now that’s he’s been dropped, just gotta see if it make him want to limit gett8ng his head bounced. Also Rock was in excellent condition to withstand what he knows Hurd bring and dish all night.

If Hurd don’t take it back, Rock got tools to unify current division

but the thing is, there was no plan B...

He's not using his height..

if his corner can't train him to use his height, and equip him with a back up plan when the in fighting isn't working...then he's his ceiling as a fighter....

the Hurd that fought saturday can't beat jrock, and really can't move forward in the division unless he tweaks his approach to the ring..

and again if his current corner can't help him, ...then his est days are behind him...

the flaws in Hurds game were put on full display..... he has to change them

Hurd never really had a plan B. Hurd is what he is - a non stop pressure fighter that keeps on coming and wears you down. We have already seen his flaws before, his lack of defence not using his height..etc but he was never known for being a well schooled technically sound boxer. Hurd is a physically strong pressure fighter with great stamina and workrate and he can bully you on the inside. He's a big 154 pounder so for most part he's had that physical advantage over his opponents and he managed to reach the highest level in his divison and become a world champ, so his style been good for him.

I picked Hurd to win because I thought when Hurd would bring that heat J-Rock would fold but he didn't. More power to him. You have to be a dog to go 12 rounds with Hurd and beat him like that at Hurd's own game. Hurd is fun to watch but fighters with that style of boxing usually have a short career, so enjoy him for as long as it lasts.

which is why i think he needs a new corner, add some dimensions to his game...no reason to fade away into the wind...

The thing is I don’t disagree but it ain’t about a plan. It’s a fight. You gotta out think that man once you get in there whatever the plan.

I watched Hurd take a step back in the Trout fight and mix it up. I’ve seen him make subtle changes in fights to get his point across. He fought at the same pace this whole fight, he went full Margarito. Dude reached Unified World champ status with his limitations, that’s a good ceiling.

He can do the same shit he do from the inside out because of his awkwardness and size. I watched Rock pause when Hurd took a step back earlier in the fight. Then he relaxed once Hurd immediately walked back in after landing

I know it’s a balance between messing something up and getting better but things he’s done has showed me certain stuff is in his wheelhouse, it’s about having the discipline to implement. That’s a monster he got to slay no matter the trainer

If Hurd wasn’t so awkward, maybe, but you don’t need anybody coming in trying to make him something else. There’s a responsibility he has to take to protect his self inside of there 1st or trainer will never matter. Hurd should be looking to get out of the sport as soon as possible so make a real effort to improve with your squad and rock out

Maybe it's the MD in me,

but i want to see him come back better...

i saw the same thing in jeff lacy and james kirkland....

great talent, but hit their ceiling before they hit their 30's

i don't wanna see a MD fighter go out like that..

they was playing him that he still lived at home with moms...

fuck that... i want homie to be great

This shit crazy tho...

Hurd beat Harrison

Harrison beat Jmell

Jmall beat jrock

Jrock beat Hurd

Fury: The Next Negative Word Hearn Says - I'll Slap His Teeth In!

Heavyweight contender Tyson Fury has fired back at the recent statements from promoter Eddie Hearn, who trashed Fury's upcoming fight with huge underdog Tom Schwarz.

Fury makes his Las Vegas debut against Schwarz on June 15th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The contest will be the first bout in Fury's promotional pact with Top Rank and ESPN.

Schwarz is a tremendous underdog and has never faced anyone close to Fury's level of competition.

Fury's last contest was a controversial twelve round split draw with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

Hearn believes Fury ran from a potential rematch with Wilder.

"You know what, it’s jealousy. Eddie Hearn can’t fight. Tom Schwarz would hit Eddie with one jab and a left hook and he’d put Eddie out for a week," Fury told Behind The Gloves.

"When you get people like Eddie Hearn saying negative stuff about me, I look at it and I think, ‘You know what Eddie? You’ve never had a fight in your life.’ How can you call me and say ‘you’re sh*t’ or whatever because you can’t fight and if you could, you’d be a world champion and I wouldn’t."

Fury says Hearn is running down his fight to make the Matchroom heavyweight fights look better.

Hearn's company star, Anthony Joshua, will defend the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO world titles against Andy Ruiz on June 1, and on July 20th Dillian Whyte will collide with Oscar Rivas.

"I understand that he’s a promoter and he has to try and run me down to make his fights look better, but come on, it is what it is," Fury said.

"I’m sick of all the bullsh*t games. I say we call a truce. The next negative word you say about me I’m gonna slap all your teeth in for you."

giving bogus contracts then tryna bury guys when they don't take them

Yeah, Everybody is fighting and beating each other. You also have fighters like Munguia, Castano, Lara, Lubin..etc.

Who's really the best Jr MW? The division is wide open in a good way. A lot of interesting match-ups in the near future.

The bold is a bum but he has decent promotion with a built in fan base because he mexican is the only reason his name gets mentioned at all.

Fury To Critics: Schwarz, Ruiz, Breazeale Pretty Much The Same

Tyson Fury shakes his head at the critics who are downplaying his upcoming opponent, unbeaten Tom Schwarz of Germany.

Fury will make his Las Vegas debut on June 15, when he faces Schwarz at the MGM Grand.

Schwarz has never faced an opponent even close to Fury's level, and most observers are not expecting the contest to even be competitive.

On June 1, Anthony Joshua will make his American debut when he defense his IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO heavyweight titles against Andy Ruiz at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

And Deontay Wilder is back on Saturday night, when he defends the WBC heavyweight title against mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Most believes Fury is facing the weakest of the three opponents.

He disagrees.

"Out of all three fights you have Schwarz, Ruiz and Breazeale. I think they’re all pretty much similar," Fury said to Declan Taylor.

“I actually think that Tom is unbeaten, Breazeale has been sparked before, and Andy Ruiz had that controversial loss to Joseph Parker. With Tom being undefeated, he will bring more pride to the ring out of all of them.”

According to Fury (27-0-1), he is not motivated by the money. He wants to make his mark in the United States and solidify his legacy.

“I’m out again in September if all goes well against Schwarz, but I’m thinking one fight at a time. They will all be in America, every one of them. Maybe I’ll get another one in December, who knows. They’re going to try and get me on a few talk shows, all that stuff. But at the end of the day it’s all about performance," Fury said.

“When you go there and you want to become a celebrity, which I have no interest in at all, and you overlook what you do for a living, which is boxing, you end up getting chinned as we’ve seen time and time again.

“I’d rather win all my fights than be a celebrity and have no money as well, just to win. It’s about winning for me. What motivates me is the Ws. It’s not the suits or the fast cars. It’s about winning. On the night I want to win. I don’t want to make a tonne of money – a sh*t load of cash, as they say in America – and lose fights. That’s what winners do: we win."

Arum Will Call on Public Boycott To Force Joshua To Face Fury

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who co-promotes Tyson Fury, believes a massive UK showdown with Anthony Joshua is possible for 2020.

Making that contest is easier said than done, because both boxers have contractual ties to rival networks in the UK and the United States.

Fury is tied to BT Sport in the UK and ESPN in the US. And Joshua is tied to Sky Sports in the UK and aligned himself with DAZN in the US.

Based on their network affiliations, the fight seems nearly impossible to make.

But Arum will call on the boxing public to make the fight a reality, hoping the fans will boycott any event where Joshua will face someone other than Fury.

"We will force it," Arum said to BT Sport.

"With the help of the public who want these huge fights. The people have the power. If the fans refuse to pay to go to lesser fights then Joshua will have to come to the table, even though his promoter (Eddie Hearn) is stuck with responsibilities to the DAZN streaming network in America and Sky over here (in the UK)."

Arum believes Fury is going to become so big in the United States, that DAZN and Sky will be obligated to come to the table for a joint broadcasting venture.

"Tyson will become so huge in America with his personality that we should be able to do joint broadcasting ventures the way we did for Mayweather-Pacquiao. With so much mine in it for everyone, everything in this business is possible. Only Brexit is insurmountable," Arum said.

Fury is back on June 15th, when he makes his Las Vegas debut against Tom Schwarz at the MGM Grand. And Joshua is back in the ring on June 1, when he defends his WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO world titles against Andy Ruiz at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Arum: Wilder vs. Fury Rematch More Likely For March or April

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is mapping out the year for heavyweight Tyson Fury.

Back in December, Fury fought to a controversial twelve round split draw with WBC champion Deontay Wilder. Fury frustrated Wilder and survived two big knockdowns to shock most critics, who expected the 'Gypsy King' to get knocked out in the first half of the fight.

A deal for a rematch was really close, but Fury unexpectedly signed co-promotional contract with Top Rank - who have an exclusive content deal with ESPN.

Fury is scheduled to return to the ring on June 15th, when he makes his Las Vegas debut against Tom Schwarz at the MGM Grand.

If he's successful, Fury will come back to the ring in the fall.

According to Fury, his next fight will take place on September 28th.

Fury may also potentially fight on a date in December.

A rematch with Wilder is not going to happen until sometime in 2020.

At first, it was being discussed for next February.

But Arum now says the rematch is more likely for March or April.

While his next fight is going to take place on ESPN+, Arum says the boxer's upcoming fight may land on an even bigger platform," Arum told Talk Sport.

ESPN will decide whether his next fight is on ESPN+, ESPN or maybe on ABC, which is the over-the-air network owned by Disney. It’s a massive platform for the entire country, but part of what we’re trying to do is to build ESPN+ to be the biggest sports streaming service in the world, which it is…

“The question is, when do we schedule a Wilder fight? If it’s in March/April, then we probably wouldn’t do a December fight. If it was later than March or April, we would wanna do a December fight. He doesn’t wanna fight in February because he wants to celebrate Christmas with his family.”

Wilder has his own fight ahead of him this coming Saturday night, when he faces mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

What the hell is Pulev doing? he better be careful.

Kubrat Pulev KO Win Over Bogdan Dinu Upheld By CSAC

By Jake Donovan

On a day where Kubrat Pulev was told his boxing career remains on hold, he at least gets to sit on a knockout win.

The heavyweight contender landed on opposite sides of two unsuccessful appeals heard before the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) during their bi-monthly agenda hearing Tuesday in Los Angeles. The latter upheld his 7th round knockout win over Bogdan Dinu, although their March 23 clash produced controversy in and out of the ring.

Dinu was floored three times in round seven of their ESPN-televised heavyweight bout in Costa Mesa, Calif. The first of the three knockdowns also saw Pulev land a right hand well after his foe hit the canvas. A mandatory eight-count was administered, after which point Pulev was deducted one point by referee Raul Caiz Jr.

The argument made on behalf of Dinu by his promoter, Greg Cohen—whom filed the protest with the CSAC in April—was that the foul was intentional and that it clearly impacted the heavyweight’s performance from that point until fight’s end.

According to the Association of Boxing Commission (ABC) unified rules, the following applies for intentional fouls:

A. Intentional Fouls

If an intentional foul causes an injury, and the injury is severe enough to terminate the bout immediately, the boxer causing the injury shall lose by disqualification.

If an intentional foul causes an injury and the bout is allowed to continue, the referee shall notify the authorities and deduct two
(2) points from the boxer who caused the foul. Point deductions for intentional fouls will be mandatory.

If an intentional foul causes an injury and the bout is allowed to continue, and the injury results in the bout being stopped in any round after the fourth (4th) round, the injured boxer will win by TECHNICAL DECISION if he is ahead on the score cards; and the bout will result in a TECHNICAL DRAW if the injured boxer is behind or even on the score cards.

None of the three scenarios were applied at the time of the foul, with Pulev deducted one point instead of two. Dinu and Cohen sought through their protest a change in the official outcome to either declare a disqualification or a technical draw (no-contest) as Dinu was down on the scorecards both at the time of the foul and upon the conclusion of the fight.

However, state commissions—despite all falling under the ABC conglomerate—are only obligated to honor the unified rules in the event of a major title at stake. As this was a 10-round bout, the California rules applied which Caiz Jr. followed to the letter as ruled during Tuesday’s hearing.

Dinu (18-2, 14KOs) is now left with back-to-back knockout losses. The 32-year old from Romania was previously stopped in four rounds by unbeaten Jarrell Miller last November.

Pulev (27-1, 14KOs) has won his last seven starts with the latest being upheld through Tuesday’s ruling. However, it was his only courtroom victory of the day as his own filed appeal to have his suspension lifted was denied the same commission.

Shortly after his win over Dinu, Pulev conducted a post-fight interview with online reporter Jenny “SuShe” Ravalo in his makeshift locker room. The awkward interview ended on a strange note, with the heavyweight forcibly kissing Ravalo.

Video of the event went viral, in particular catching the attention of CSAC Executive Director Andy Foster whom immediately suspended Pulev’s license. The incident was considered grounds for administrative suspension in violation of California Code of Regulations, title 4, section 390.

His appeal for reinstatement was denied, as he is now required to once again appear before the commission during its next hearing which will take place July 22. By that time, Pulev will be required to have completed mandatory training addressing sexual harassment, or else he will be subject to a suspension of up to 12 months and fined an additional $2,500.

As the CSAC falls under ABC jurisdiction, Pulev’s suspension is valid throughout North America where he is not permitted to box or train anywhere during such time.
