The problem is the weight thst Shields fights at there just isnt any competition, shes an elite fighter who has to fight very poor opposition... Theres just no one for her to fight other than Savanah Marshall again... She showed her skills against Marshall and looked great, because she was fighting another elite fighter, other than Marshall theres just no one to test her...
With there only being two elite fighters in the division, unless Marshall beats Shields in the rematch and they have a trilogy theres not really anyone for her to prove herself against unless she can somehow go down in weight...
To show how shallow the middle/super middleweight division is, the 3 woman who went on to win world titles down as low as Super Welter after fighting Shields are Hannah Rankin who beat Lindberg, they share 15 loses between them and are terrible even down at Super Welter...
Hannah Gabriels won a title fighting Sarah Dwyer and Dwyer only had 3 wins on her record at the time (shes still only got 3 wins on her record)...
Alicia Napoleon Espinosa won a title fighting Schemelle Baldwin who only had 4 pro fights!!! Shes now 3-1-2...
Its a shame Shields cant make say Welter that way the Super Lights could go up the Super Welters could go down, she would have a great selection of fighters to prove herself against (Cameron, Taylor, Mayer, McCaskill, could Baumgardner could come up??? then theres a few about to retire who are past it like Jonas and Braekhus and also Harper who is young and below elite but who is a name and former champ in the UK that would do numbers...
