The difference in levels of competition between Spence and Bud is borderline alarming!

Boots, Stanionis, and Thurman are all challenging fights for Errol but Bud on the other hand get to fight David Alowishes… Ain’t NOBODY ask for that bullshit fight!
 
Stationis took step aside money for Spence Ugas.. doubt he'd want to do it again. I wouldn't be surprised if Spence vacate and move up

My point is if you give him Twitter in 1980 his side of the story would sound different and the opinion of the fight might be different. In 1980 we get a press release, and that's it. In the social media age you get 1,000+ different takes on why a fight didn't happen.

You got a million different media sources who will interview anyone close enough for a take and use it as click bait.

You got highly opinionated fans with you tube pages that get millions of hits and influence public opinion.

You googled where Pryor turned down the money offered. That's just one article from one point of view, and it's dead.

You moving the goal post. To the bold you're wrong! Back in the day newspapers budget was much larger and sport writers/pages were a very large part of that. Example in DC we had the Washington Post and the Washington Times. They both would have articles about the Redskins and Bullets/Wizards and they would be completely different cause writers had different opinions on the information they just heard interviews.

On top of that fighters used to do bigger multiple city tours to promote fights cause they didn't have social media. So again a press release was far from the only thing the press was getting.

I'll agree with you that social media allows for me people to give opinions but those opinions ain't coming from "media sources". They regular people who getting opinionated info from a review video that another non-media source made from another persons interview. You might but I ain't paying that shit any attention for real.

Another reason I somewhat agree with you about the aspect of social media opinions is because in the clip I posted of Errol Spence talking about the Crawford fight. He said the person "I'm getting killed on social media".

Regardless of all those opinions. It's still facts over opinion and the fact is Pryor turned that fight down. He wasn't ducked, stalled out nor low balled. He wanted more and didn't get it. Oh well happens to plenty of fighters.
