People who truly know what they're doing are definitely considered threats.


So, most higher-ups aren't going to promote anyone who they consider a future threat to their job.


They're just gonna promote the type that they can control and keep under their thumb.

It's not always a conscious thing. A candidate comes in a usually they break the tension with casual questions, wherein lies the trap of finding familiarity with them instead of focusing on their qualifications.
