realizing this more and more

there is no fast track, theres no cheat code, there's no perfect balance of work and family you can set to have it all turn out the way you want it

there is no "comfortable" or "safe" lifestyle, and happiness is a state of mind

the rich are still stressing every day about shit they cant change

"God" imo, has grown just as much as humans have to. God created evil, god did evil, how else would god know evil and then overcome evil to only choose good? A feat for a god to be sure!

God to me is something higher than myself that is a lot wiser than myself. Hard for me to define it much more than that.

but im interested to hear your point as to how one can truly control how their finances and family turn out in the end that has yet to come?

Better question, if you TRULY feel you have no control over the outcome of your life (i.e. finances, stability etc) what exactly are you doing in your day to day life?

What are you working for? If working isn't certainty of financial gain or stability?
What are you saving for?
Striving towards?

If your efforts are pointless and have no bearing on the outcome of your life... what are you doing?

I didnt say they were pointless.....im working and saving to send my kids thru school and get them started in life...that is a goal im working toward

my point is, we've all seen people go and get awesome careers to provide for their families, but that career also keeps them away too much and family falls apart any damn way

we've seen people funnel money into stocks or other investments and be frugal their whole lives thinking they're being smart and building a fortune, to turn around and get a call saying its all gone

I know we can set goals and work towards them and thats all we need to focus on.....Im just ignorant to a particular way of living that ensures success in both of those areas, for anyone....I feel like one taking a decline for the other to strive is inevitable

I'm a Christian, but this was funny to me.

I give my pastor a hard time because he can give good answers to most things, but when I asked him why people believe God doesn't make mistakes when the Bible says he regretted making Man, he gave me some BS answer like "regret doesn't mean the same thing for God as it means for us."

IMO: The goal shouldn't be to "save money for blah blah" or " get the best degree for the best job" .

The goals should be much more simple. My goal is to smile. (Yeah, I'm a cornball lol) But for serious.
When you make moves based on your present feeling and not what you THINK you may feel once they are accomplished you tend to find that you have been happy traveling the road to goals-end instead of searching for it upon arrival

Example: I have had a career that paid well over 6 figures (a few on here can vouch) - I was also miserable , no time with the fam, always busy etc etc. Yeah they were able to enjoy certain things in life but they were not as happy as they could have been because mom wasn't there to enjoy with them.

I have also been broke and living in a hotel.. not saying that we should all be broke and staying in hotels by all means, but the happiness experienced then was much greater than when we were all separated trying to make something happen for the future. We focused on the present.

Since, i have rearranged my life to focusing on what makes us smile NOW, not hoping that we can curve the future.

I have turned down great paying gigs because of the time away from home, only to now have the opportunity to work from home most of the time and still make a decent amount of money to enjoy life with.

You can control your life, you can balance work, play etc.. you just have to seek the proper goal. Most overlook it or are afraid to take the leap and break the monotony we've grown to know as Amerikkkan living.

Focus on the "NOW" and make crazy a$$ decisions that don't make any sense , but SMILE. :-) Gauge your success.... by the smiles of you and the ones you love.

I consider myself "extremely" successful , better than most who make millions more than myself. It's all about perspective .

I feel you, it's how we look at our parents. When parents did you wrong as a youngin and you held grudges because they were supposed to have known the effects of what they did. Then you get older and realize you parents where just a man and a woman who had sex. Just as flawed as the next man and woman. And Parenthood doesn't bestow parenting skills the same way age doesn't bestow being an adult.
