Bro, go watch ANY aging player and you'll see them doing it. From MJ with the wizards, Duncan with the Spurs, Shaq, Kobe in his final years, so on and so forth. It happens🤷🏾‍♂️

The problem is people don't like the style of play now. It makes it SEEM like there's no skill involved and that's a issue being that this is probably the most skilled era of players.
 
Also a lot of this is the result of "see star players can thrive on small market teams too"

Take Luka, Shai, Brunson, Embiid, Kyrie, Wemby and all the star players and put them on the Knicks, Celtics, Lakers, Sixers, Bulls, Heat, and Warriors and see how the league takes off.

Honestly there's no drama. Nba does a pretty decent job of policing players, not allowing fights etc but those are viewer grabs.
 
Lol at blaming LeBron for shit NBA players been doing long before he came into the league. The main reason the ratings are suffering is access. There's too many streaming platforms you gotta pay for to watch games. And with 82 games at a certain point ain't nobody paying for all of that shit when you can stream it for free on streameast or just catch the highlights.

The 3pt shooting is a problem as well because yeah ain't too many people trying to watch 55 3pt attempts a game. But there's also the fans and media to blame as well for spending damn near the last 15 years discounting the regular season to the point it's shaped how teams are built and what moves players make in the offseason. The whole "rings matter more than anything" has pushed the load management issues people hate, the teaming up and buddy buddy nature people claim to hate, and the general style of play we see today. Parity has never been the NBAs strong point and with the way many fans and media use rings to either boost up or discount careers the handful of teams that are regular contenders build their teams to be championship or bust.

Think about the history of the league. Alot of the most memorable teams never won titles and/or the best rivalries weren't about NBA titles but just teams wanting to beat each other in the regular season. Fans and media got just as much blame as the league does. It's all shared
 
if this is as much of a matter of concern as the noise suggests, then this is quite a conundrum

theres some of the most dynamically skilled and effective bball players EVER in the league right now tearing up shit ... one would assume that'll be a draw in and of itself, but apparently not

lol No. Go back and watch games. None of them niggas you named did what Lebron does. There are multiple times every game where he leaves his team in 4 on 5 situations because he doesn't even bother to cross halfcourt. Also, nobody was calling MJ a top 10 player when he was hobbling around with the Wizards even when he was throwing up 50 on teams. If Lebron was doing this shit as a supporting player, it wouldn't be a problem. He's the premiere player on one of the two most important franchises in NBA history.

Nigga, they played 72 games that season. If you add 10 to Lebron's 45, you still don't even break 60 for that year. lol What are we doing here? Lebron has always been with the load management since it became a thing. You can support his right to do it, but what's the point in denying that he's done it?

Lol during prime Harden years there were also multiple compilations put together of him literally standing still on defense. It's not a LeBron thing. It's a league wide thing among players who say they're "conserving their energy for offense."

Also, I'm not saying he is the biggest factor. I think the general lack of competitiveness from the players and the fact that every team plays the same are the biggest factors. Contrary to what the NBA front office thinks, bloated stats =/= good basketball. Luka getting a triple double every night because he doesn't play any defense and sits in position waiting for eventual bricks to come his way will only excite people for so long.

Ya'll are missing my point. You're getting butt hurt about the fact that I criticized Lebron, and ignoring the fact that I was just using him as an example of what's prevalent in today's league. You're absolutely right about Harden. Harden is also a modern player.

lol This is all I'm trying to say. He can do what he does now. It wasn't even possible in other eras. That is a knock on the state of modern NBA basketball.

That's a damn lie. It's only recently the NBA game evolved to where all 5 positions on the court actually matter. There were plenty players in the past on NBA teams who were referred to as "self check" because they played a role the league has phased out which is the role of an enforcer.
