FEATURED NBA Ratings Drastically Down This Year, Every Other Sports League Ratings Is Up

test
LOL this has nothing to do with LeBron....

Every team basically plays the same exact style that Golden State made famous, position-less basketball, star players not guaranteed to play every night cause of "Load Management", terrible officiating night in and night out and these new American star players dont have the same passion as the previous guard. All makes for a bland ass product. Niggas treat every game like its basically the All-Star game.

The biggest stars right now play on the west, and they’re also the oldest in the league. You have to stay up late to watch them. It’s football season too…
I've always felt sorry for you East Coast niggas. y'all missed or fell asleep on a lot of great west coast hoop between the Lakers and Warriors Championship runs

I’d say D Antoni s Suns were the beginning

lol Lebron has been one of the poster children of load management and he constantly berates the refs leading to his team getting bullshit calls. He's also the face of the league right now, so even a lot of the shit that isn't his fault gets attached to him, but let's not act like he doesn't have a boatload of shit that falls on him. He basically hi-jacked the summer league and pre-season with the Bronnie fiasco.

All that aside, I didn't post that vid to solely to shit on Lebron. I was making the point that in today's league, a 40 y/o man can load manage on court game after game and be called one of the best in the league. What does that say about the league as a whole?

lol That's always the excuses for him. Who gives a shit? If your ass is out there shuffling around like an old man, it's time for you to leave. What is he even playing for at this point?
He plays in spurts, it is what it is. THAT ain't the reason viewership is down so not even sure how it's relevant?

To me the only real thing is players not taking the regular season seriously.

Same as players not taking the all star game seriously.

You can't ask me to be invested in something that the players and coaches aren't invested in.

And I still love it and watch it, but this really is a problem.

Again, the fact that one of the game's biggest stars can play in spurts says all you need to say. lol

Name another era where that was acceptable or even possible.

Also, I'm not saying he is the biggest factor. I think the general lack of competitiveness from the players and the fact that every team plays the same are the biggest factors. Contrary to what the NBA front office thinks, bloated stats =/= good basketball. Luka getting a triple double every night because he doesn't play any defense and sits in position waiting for eventual bricks to come his way will only excite people for so long.

I don't think it has as much to do with threes or the style of the game at all. Access is an issue. They are talking about ratings, which is a cable/tv scale for measuring viewership. No one i know watches games on cable or TV for the most part. It's all streams and highlights.

I have watched more games since they have been on Prime and Max, though that applies to anything that depends on cable. I can't tell you the last time I've seen a non PPV/PLE wrestling show because they don't live stream them.

Football is still America's game so no one cares about basketball while the NFL season is ongoing. Except me, basketball is the only major sport i care about.
This. Shouldn't have to go through multiple outlets to watch games and people aren't going to try when they know they can go on reddit and find a stream. They've given too much access to broadcasters but nothing to the viewer.

All that said with the NFL and MLB there ratings are generally down to start out seasons. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Like others have said the style of the game is the main reason I think people aren't tuning in. Combine that with having to have 5/6 different platforms to watch the games and here we are.

Bring post play back!

Since always. I said he was one of not the only or even the biggest. Lebron doesn't just do it. He actually used to defend the practice back when it first came under fire. lol This is Lebron's 22nd year, and he's only played all 82 games 1 time. He went five years in a row without breaking 70.
