The Hornets are looking to shed cap and rebuild. I don't think they care if they have a starting PG or not. If they can get off a bad contract I think they pull the trigger. There was a rumor earlier this summer they we were trying to get Kemba but the Batum contract had to be involved and that was ultimately the deal breaker. Might have been bs but It would make sense from their perspective.
Kemba is 28 and looking for a max deal also wants to compete. The Hornets are going no where fast and already are in cap hell with Batum getting 24 per M.Williams at 14 per MKG and Zeller getting 12 mil per. All of Those contracts have 2 to 3 years left. If they can get off one of them and attach Kemba while getting back A young prospect like Mikal Bridges and an expiring that would be solid.
