Multiple schools have canceled basketball games against Spire Institute since LaMelo Ball joined the team.

La Lumiere High School, from Indiana, was scheduled to play Spire on Tuesday, but the school posted on their website that they canceled the game.

St. Benedicts Prep, from New Jersey, was supposed to play against Spire on Friday, but the game has been removed from St. Benedicts' schedule.

Spire was supposed to play against Oak Hill Academy, from Virginia, on Dec. 3, but Oak Hill also removed the game from their schedule.

We reached out to all of the schools to see if they canceled the games because of Ball, but none of them responded.

Bay High School athletic director Matt Spellman said Bay is still competing in the Vermilion Basketball Tournament on Nov. 30. They are scheduled to play against Spire in the first round.

Ball played his first game with Spire on Saturday against The Hill School.

The next game Spire is scheduled to play is against Quality Education Academy on Nov. 19.

whats crazy about this....the youtube nuthuggers are saying the schools are afraid to look bad against him.....but he is a professional now coming back to high school....so those school have a point.

and like some say on this site, its to raise his stock....but wasnt the JBA supposed to raise his stock along with the playing time in europe?

And i thought education wasnt important if you wanted to play ball.

so now he needs his stock to rise so go back to high school?

and with all these schools pulling out...how can his skill be measured against top prospects?

Report: Two More Opponents Cancel Games Against LaMelo Ball's School

Two opponents of SPIRE Institute have dropped out of games against the school, where recent enrollee LaMelo Ball plays, reports Cleveland's WEWS News 5.

St. Benedicts Prep in New Jersey was supposed to play SPIRE on Friday, but the game no longer appears on the school's schedule. Oak Hill Academy in Virginia was set to face SPIRE on Dec. 3 but has also removed the game from its schedule, reports WEWS News 5.

The news station reached out to both schools to see if Ball was the reason for the cancellations but neither school responded.

Oak Hill's roster includes five-star recruit Cole Anthony, who is ranked third in the nation by 247 Sports. A matchup between Anthony and Ball would have been buzzworthy.

Last week, La Lumiere School in Indiana announced in a statement that it was canceling this week's game against SPIRE, citing Ball's previous professional experience as the reason.

Ball recently enrolled at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, for his senior year. As a previous five-star recruit in the class of 2019, Ball left Chino Hills High School in California last fall to play professionally in Lithuania with his brother LiAngelo. They returned to the states this summer to play in the Junior Basketball Association, which is run by their father LaVar.

Ball said he would like to play for either Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, or North Carolina after finishing at SPIRE. However, according toSports Illustrated legal analyst Michael McCann, Ball may have already forfeited his college eligibility.

Ball debuted with SPIRE on Saturday against The Hill School in Pennsylvania and posted 21 points and 10 assists.

We all see that..but no one is going on about this shit like scorned BBB customer who didnt get their shoes lol

It’s hard to get a good judgment of his skills with the way his coaches let him do whatever and he still didn’t look that good with all that freedom on the court.

Those other schools should use their team beating the fuck out of his to help boost their school and players reputations

If dude gets drafted into the NBA, his pops would be validated.

He not draft eligable yet, so we gotta wait and see.

What?

Dude has always been one of the top ranked players in his class. Been a 5* prospect.

But all the shit he putting his son through is just unnecessary and a inconvenience for the kid.

He is/was always getting drafted

But he’s not learning from good coaching right now

I clearly dont know enough about the shit so ima bow out.

I didnt know dude was already a 5 star prospect
